I've been looking for a good substitute for my '63 335, since that particular axe isn't going to bars anymore. Finally settled on a Hofner Verithin CS and got delivery yesterday. Hofner says CS stands for "Contemporary Series" but it really means "Chinese Stuff."
Which, in the case, is OK. Near perfect fretwork, even though it's frets-overi-binding, good setup out of the box (except for the crappy strings) and better tone from the pups than I anticipated. I will probably replace the tuners, and the pickguard is already off (like on my 335, these things just get in the way). Excellent fit and finish and THIN body. Much lighter and easier to handle than the Gibbie.

Anyway, the Chinese Verithin is very cool! Congrats :D
