After about an hour the volume goes way down and no distortion. Any ideas? Bear in mind new tubes as of about 3-4 months ago and been running fine until now.

New tubes can go bad. If you still have the old tubes you replaced (and they still work) try popping them back in to see if they fix the problem. If that doesn't work, I'd clean all of the jacks with contact cleaner, especially the effects loop (even if you don't use it). If that still doesn't work, try hooking up a patch cable to the effects loop to see if that fixes it.

Simple stuff first. Guitar, cord, etc. Both channels affected? If so perhaps your losing signal from dirty FX loop jack contacts. Putting a jumper cable in the loop will determine that. Or...a pre amp tube went bad or has bad contact in the sockets. Swapping out the V1 (if both channels are affected )or the V2 if only the dirty channel is affected will tell it thats the case. you can also determine if its a power section problem by plugging your guitar into the FX return loop. It wont be that loud but if you get sound its probably OK. Perhaps the PI is bad (V3)...

Long story short if its not the FX loop contacts I'd start swapping out tubes. A bit of contact cleaner on the pins and working them in and out wont hurt either. After that its Tech time. Bob
