View Full Version : Malekko 616 troubles...

My recently purchased Malekko 616 is a pretty nice analog delay, but I'm having trouble with the wet/dry mix. Even with the Mix knob dimed, my echoes are much quieter than the dry signal, and if I'm doing more legato playing, the echoes are barely noticeable behind my dry signal.

Does anyone know of a fix for this? It'll be a little bit before I have time to open it up and look for trimmers, and I could replace a resistor if I need to, but it's something I need to take care of if I'm going to use the pedal.

Thanks

First I would try to contact the folks at Malekko, see if they can give you some info. I have two 616s and don't really have that problem. You could have got a version one, which has a few kinks in it. Best bet = contact Malekko

I did send them a question a few days back. No answer yet, so I thought I'd check here. My 616 arrived maybe a week ago, from ToneFactor (which had been previously sold out)-- I'm assuming they've gone through their v1 stock, and recent orders would be v2. I'll check once we've got the gear back home (it's all in the van for a block of shows, and I don't really have a place where I can open it up and check it out).

I just got mine the other day. One of the newer versions. I feel I have to keep the mix low cus the echoes become too loud over the signal. I like more of the warm, ambient feel and this pedal does it perfect with the mix laid back in True Bypass Mode.

I just bought one and have the same problem.
Were you running your in your loop or in front of the amp?
I have mine in the loop of my mark V and the delayed signal is very weak - even with the mix turned up to 100% delay. No loss in overall volume - just a weak delayed signal.
I have emailed Malekko and am waiting to hear back from them.

I had the exact opposite problem. My echoes were too loud. I had to keep the mix around 9-10 o-clock to keep the sound from not being overwhelmed. I ended up selling it. The echoes and the sound wasn't really what I was going for, but nice quality.
