I've been wondering what people think for the Fulltone OCD for a single coil equiped guitar versus humbuckers. I've only tried with a stratocaster, so i've been wondering whether it sounds better or not with a Les Paul?

I preferred it with a Tele. My Schecter with humbuckers didn't seem to agree with it.

I seem to be in the minority here but I prefer my OCD v4 with humbuckers (SD Pearly Gates). I almost always stack it with the LPB-1 set for a slight boost about 9:00.
I like all my Les Paul's with the OCD. My Paul's all have different pickup combinations so I need to tweak little. I generally use it as was intended....for overdrive. So I play it on hard picking with tone set at around 11ish and Drive set between 9 and 11, depending on guitar. The amp has a lot to do with things too. If you're playing through V30's the OCD is gonna sound very different than through, say, Black Shadows. I don't hate the OCD with single coils but I'm not married to it either.

I have used both s/cs & buckers & thought it worked great with both

Great w/either single or buckas. My fav is with my LP w/WCRs - totally natural sounding gain.

I like it with either. I love it with my strat and les paul. It also sounded great with my prs mccarty before I sold it.

I only play my V3 OCD with single coils... and I love it. I set mine for low plus gain on LP mode and then switch it to HP mode for a little more kick. It's like having two pedals on your board even if I can't stack them! LOL

My Tele and OCD make sweet sticky love almost every day, even after years together. It's sweet really.

I can't get used to the V3 OCD with my Les Paul, and was about to sell it when I plugged in my Strat, and realized why people like this pedal! IMHO, it's definitely a better match to single coils.

I love my v.4 with my explorer which has alnico II humbuckers in it. Think it sounds great - thick but articulate. Just what I want.

LP's eat my OCD all day, into almost any amp. the single coils i think are more picky (they like the LP instead of the HP into my fenders).

I liked it with both Strats and LPs. It's a pretty versatile pedal.

I love it with my Tele, but I don't have a guitar that sounds bad with the OCD. I've got a late-80's Strat, a 1985 MIJ Tele thinline, and a Gibson SG with a single P-90. They all sounds awesome with the OCD.

I like the OCD with either single coils or humbuckers. With a bridge humbucker though, you can drive it much harder and get a really good hard rock tone on HP with the gain maxed.

The only thing I miss about the OCD is the sound
It gave the low E on my tele. Mmm mmm.

It works well with all my guitars. I think it's pickier about amps. It is OK with Marshall but really loves Tweed.

My OCD sounds very good with a Strat but it really shines with an LP.

Version 1 is great with my SG.

with single coils you might need a little more gain...and unless you are at 15v to 18v you'll probably start getting some clipping from the opamp at anything over 11 or noon on the gain knob, which sounds terrible and fizzy. So if you are using the ocd as a distortion pedal then that might factor into the equation of whether you like higher output pickups or lower to name a few factors. :)

i liked mine with all my OCD with the gain all the way off and the volume cranked to drive the amp... used as a clean boost i liked the strat/tele sound mostly
