What are the common symptoms when a rectifier tube goes bad? Also, I have a Weber copper cap that sounds like there is something loose inside (like a burned out lightbulb if you shake it). I assume this is bad and needs replaced?

Thank you!

I've got a new, unused one from a kit I built. No rattle.

If the rectifier fails, you will have no high voltage in the amp. Tubes will light up but nothing else will happen.

The copper cap should not rattle! Don't plug that in!
