So ive been looking for a tele with a humbucker in it especially in the bridge. Then i came across the tele plus. Im not familiar at all with the lace sensors but im hoping its a little less twangy then a regular tele. I was also wondering what kind of neck comes with these guitars. I really like slimmer necks and i really dig the c shaped necks over the v or u.

Lace Sensors get a very mixed reception here, although I personally like them a lot. Yes, less twangy, definitely: smoother, and tending towards 'modern' and 'hi-fi' - the vintage lovers tend to dislike them as a result. (If I'm right, the humbucker is splittable too - there's a micro-toggle.)
I have the other model of Tele Plus (three singles), and the neck is fairly wide but shallow - definitely a C rather than a V or U.If mine and rumour is anything to go by, you're also getting above average workmanship with a Plus (they were top of the range in their era). You're going to paying dearly for it though - since Radiohead, that model is very fashionable.

Also, in the tele plus that isn't a humbucker. It's just two lace sensors right next to one another.

Dave Davies has used one for years.
I had one and it was very heavy and very ugly - blue ash - but it sounded great.

Interesting wiring on these - that "dual red" Lace in the bridge position should be wired with a 3-way mini-toggle (in between the volume and tone knob on the control plate) so you can use select between the front "coil" Lace, both "coils", or the rear "coil" Lace. The Strat Ultra of that era also had the dual red and that extra mini-toggle.
There was also a Tele Plus Deluxe at that same time frame - it had a Strat Plus trem (at least I think it was the Strat Plus trem with the regular screw-in arm and not the "Deluxe" trem with the snap-in arm), locking tuners, and a roller nut. I'm pretty sure that Fender dropped the "Deluxe" model with the trem at the end of 1993 (about the same time they started using the LSR nut and that locking-saddle trem on the Strat Plus Deluxe and Strat Ultra).
Also, Fender revised the Tele Plus circa late 1995/early 1996. The "revised" version was a "Nashville" Tele and they went to the vintage-voiced gold-label Lace Sensors. It had a Tele-sized chrome covered Lace in the neck postition, a Strat-sized chrome covered Lace in the middle position and a Tele-sized black covered Lace in the bridge position. This version also had the same bridge with a chrome plate as an American Standard Tele of that era. These had top binding and a back bevel. These features were carried forward to the American Deluxe Tele when the American Deluxes replaced the Plus/Plus Deluxe/Ultra series in 1998.
EDIT: Damn - sorry, Strats on the brain. I've corrected that last paragraph to say "Tele Plus" like it was supposed to.

I like the fact that its a less twangy tele. So i take it that the tele plus can pull off alot of different tones?

ill definitely be on the lookout for this guitar. From clips ive heard it sounds like it has some good cleans and can get heavy sounding if needed. Have any of you guys seen any of the guitars for sale on sites besides ebay? Looking for one with a rosewood neck. Black would be nice.

I bought a crimson burst Tele Plus at the San Diego Guitar Center in '94 and played it for several years. It had two red sensors at the bridge and a blue at the neck. The two red sensors were controlled by 3-way a toggle switch that selected one closest to the bridge, both on or the one farthest from the bridge. The 3-way pickup selector then acted just like a regular tele selector. I eventually had a silver installed in the middle with a 5-way switch and kept the same functionality of the "humbucker" (dual singles) at the bridge. As has already been mentioned, it's not a true humbucker, just two red single coils right next to each other. It also had a TBX tone control.
I agree with Dave Wakely...it's definitely less twangy than a true tele and more smooth and rounded sounding - not even quite like a strat sound either. The neck pickup was very cool sounding as well. It had some bite but was very smooth. I really liked that guitar but eventually sold it. Mine was pretty heavy but the craftmanship was excellent.
Good luck finding one for a decent price. They seem to sell for crazy prices these days.
