I use a solid state amp that is about 25 yrs old. Lately on gigs, when I pick a note extra hard, I'll sometimes get this crackling buzz that goes along with that note. It almost sounds like the amp can't handle the extra input from me picking that note harder. I thought that maybe the input jack on the amp was coming loose from the circuit board, so I soldered a brand new input jack in, and the problem is still persisiting. Does anyone have any ideas about other things in the circuit that may be causing this to happen?
