and now I have really bad Les Paul GAS. Ugh.
Why do I do this to myself?

What model LP did you sell?
Don't do anything crazy- like buy a Tele, before we discuss your options...

Wow, that sucks. Weren't you the one selling that gorgeous white Standard? Hate to do this to ya, but you won't find one like that again.
Just remind yourself why you sold it. Now that it's not within arm's reach, you think you want a LP again but there must've been a reason why you sold it. Maybe another LP will work out for you in the future but that one obviously wasn't doing it for you.

I sold an '89 Standard in white partly because it was in just about mint condition and I didn't want to be the one to mess it up. (Stupid, I know.) Gently used Traditionals seem to be popping up pretty frequently these days at good prices.
(I have a Tele that I like already.)
;)

Phil, I loved it but it had a collectibility factor to it that I didn't want to ruin by playing it.
(Per my other post, I know that was stupid.)

focus on amps! I just returned an SG yesterday after not bonding with it. I'm hitting the amp forums to set my sights elsewhere... ;-)

I have a red '58 reissue that is fairly unique--there are others out there but not many. Fortunately it is slightly banged up from gigging and would not sell easily!
Live and learn, believe me I've done what you did. I used to have a coffee brown one-out-of-150 Standard that I thought was valuable. It was just a production Standard in a different color and Gibson has done so many runs like this over the years that they become less valuable than you might like them to be.
At any rate, sorry for your loss.

There are a lot of great les Pauls out there. Don't lose sleep over the white one.

I haven't had amp GAS since I got my Carmen Ghia. That's subject to change of course.

+1. I just got a Big Tex 53 Blackguard, and I'm really surprised at the big, warm LP type sounds I can get out of this guitar.

If you don't mind the thicker necks on the LP Reissues, I would look for a "player" R7 or R8. Or, if you like P-90's then maybe a R6.
Of course, the amp-route is always a possibility....
How 'bout a Firebird or SG?
I'm so board
