Playing a solo jazz guitar gig here tomorrow night...

I'll be playing inside at a private fund raiser while a bunch of VIPs have wine & cheese. Kind of different....

I'll say! I'm not a great geography buff. Where is that?

Believe it or not, that is in Nashville, Tennessee. Its a replica of the Parthenon in Greece. It was built when the World's Fair was in Nashville back in 1897.

Home from the gig. it was awesome. the acoustics inside that place were phenomenal. I was playing my L-5 through an old Roland JC-55 amp and just swam in the room reverb.

But what was really cool was the crowd. Probably 100 folks there, VIPs (e.g. Olympic coach Ed Temple, the mayor of Nashville, etc.) and cats I usually don't roll with. But the cool part was there were about 15 athletes who had competed in the 1960 Olympics in Rome. One of them sang FLY ME TO THE MOON with me comping on guitar. All in all a really memorable gig.
