I really love the copper metallic. I've loved that color since seeing the Fender 52 RIs they did with that finish. I don't care much for blue guitars, but that's just me.

If I was getting that guitar I would get Shoreline Gold, but I like Daphne Blue too.

I'd go...

Orange matallic with black base coat

OR

Charcoal frost metallic

I think that Grosh does metallic and candy finishes so well that you'll probably be thrilled with any of them. Seriously, I'd find it really hard to pick from that group. They all look just great.

I agree with Mr. Soloway. I don't think you can go wrong with this group of colors.

THe orange metallic with black base coat is just STUNNING in person. They have had a few at Fatsound and immediately caught my eye amongst all the other candy in their shop...every time I see one...

Hi,

Did you ever see the Inca Silver with black base coat at Fat Sound? How did it compared in your opinion?

Thanks!

Charcoal is definitely the best choice in there! especially with that pickguard!

I have seen almost all of those colors in person and you know the "charcoal burst" grosh I have. The copper metallic black knudges the orange metallic black in my opinion but both of those are great colors. I would say the copper says subdued class and the orange says more "in your face" but not in a bad way.

Good Luck!

I would go either orange w/ a cream pearl pick guard or charcoal frost with. Pearl pick guard.

I'm actually very surprised haw frost charcoal is this popular...especially over grey gun metallic. They seem to be similar color and frost charcoal looks bit messy with all the small specks whereas the gun metallic grey seems simple and elegant. Clearly shows EMMV.

Funny. i voted for the same color but was going to say to definitely change that PG out to black, silver, or white pearloid. :D

They are all nice, but the metallic orange on black just REALLY jumps out at you. It literally took my breath away when I saw it... I saw Stu walking down from upstairs and he saw it in my hands and literally just started laughing, saying he though it looked kickass too...and I believe he ordered one for himself in the same color... The inca silver looks better in pictures than in person...IMHO...not that it looks bad...it just doenst grab me like the orange does Here is the actual orange guitar... nya7x2x33do

Agreed- charcoal frost with a black or white pearloid guard would kick ass.

Here's a simple solution....order two or three. Seriously though, they all look great and I'm sure you'll be happy with any of the ones you listed.

I don't get it. Why is Copper matallic so popular. I could not find any example on the web that makes me go wow. Perhaps someone can post a link or photo better than one I posted.

To really mix you up...Get a vintage cherry burst. Don does awesome burst and other "natural" finishes like violin amber as well.

Which is surprising because I think your finish is one of the beatiful ones out there. Then again it maybe your photo taking skills:D

Your "Orange Burst" is actually Sunburst Orange Pearl. Obviously not a burst. It is also not a stock color, but rather a Jeep Color. That guitar was built for one of my best friends. The color was matched from a Jeep Brochure. Don hand mixed that color for the build. I do not think it had a black base coat.

I dig the Black Cherry Metallic myself.... :)

I have two of Don's Bursts and they are gorgeous.

They seem to have both a transparent and a "sparkle" purple!

That means the answer must involve purple!

I have narrowed down to;

Black Orange
Black Cherry
Black Copper
Frost Charcoal
Gun Grey Metal

"black" here is referring to the base coat.

...yes probably not much of narrowing but deciding on these five was tough in it self.:bonk

I would like to get black pickguard, black knbs, and zebra humbucker cover.

Over the years I've learned to stay away from darker colors, they tend to be a pain to keep unsmudged. Gold all the way.

Made my vote.

I very much prefer the versions with a matching headstock. The natural wood headstocks are not very exciting IMO.

You can ask for a matched headstock with all custom orders I believe.

Charcoal, gold or orange look the best from the photos posted at the beginning.
Just stay away from white plastic guard on any choice. Nothing makes a guitar look cheap more than the addition of white plastic.
Yuck!

Stands to reason that the guy who complained about Jimmy Somma's logo would have an 10-option poll to help him decide on the color of his guitar.

The Charcoal Frost Metallic above is perfect, though I'd want a better, more realistic looking tortoise guard like tortis or those used on Xotic Guitars.

For the Inca Silver, I prefer if it has flat/matte finish instead of high gloss. With flat single ply (no white stripe) black guard.

With that pick guard, I like the gun metal gray or the sparkle orange over black base.

I like all colors, it really depends on the other appointments

Obviously its your guitar, but since you asked...

I don't like ANY of them! I love butterscotch with black. But gotta say, the tortise pick guard is very tasty.

The Blue over Black Base Coat in post #33 is my fave I have seen so far. It was actually one of our customer's ideas, but 30 minutes after I photographed it I was on the phone ordering more of them.

The Orange and Inca over the Black Base coat are also both stunning.

My personal EJ is the Metallic Orange over Black, but I've ordered a Blue over Black with humbuckers to complement it.

This guitar with dual P-90's is my main guitar these days after 20 some odd years of being a dedicated Strat guy.

i think getting opinions might not be a good idea cos its your guitar. for me id go with looking at all the pictures at once and then picking the first one which really strikes me.

So orange with black base coat, black guard, black speed knobs, black humbuckers is what it is. I believe roughly 2 to 3 months.

I might also order a second set of guard. Cream guard with cream P-90's on them to make it look orange and cream. I think it will look really cool. :D

The most exciting thing about this order is the stainless steel frets and 50's V shaped neck. I have never owned either and I gotta feeling I'm going to love it. I just love soft V feeling neck and I was told that this 50's V is softer than soft V. It is suppose to be v shaped at the lower frets and taper off to no V shaped as you move up. Very cool!
