Well we are working on our prototype Surfmaster and so far it's really cool, but I need some feedback from players who use them. First we are testing a prototype set of humbucking Jazzmaster pickups from Lindy Fralin and they sound great to me, but they are stronger than the vintage pickups and have a warmer midrange than the 1966 we compared them to. So are stronger pickups that still sound Jazzmaster a good thing? The volume difference is the Fralins on 7 was the same volume as the vintage on 10 (on the guitars volume) and with the mids on 5 with the fralins you had to turn it up to 7 for the same full sound on the vintage pickups. Lastly what string size do you use?

A JM is my one and only guitar. I worked hard to get it to sound less like a JM and more like a unique tone. I see the rhythm circuit is gone, nice call. I like the regular pickups with some pot and cap tweaks. They are addictive for sure. In the end, I am sure it will kill!

I play only Jazzmasters, I own for now 2, but I'm planning to get more.
I don't change 3 things, 11's - mastery bridge - vintage sounding pickups.

A fuller than the usual neck profile would be welcome and 6105 frets too.
