Fit, finish and appearance the BC wins hands down. Nice one piece body, the neck wasn't the U shape like the recent Nocasters, it was more of a chunky C to me, super nice feel. The fret work was great, just as any good Nocaster should be. The relicing was much more convincing than the LSL as with the quality of the paint job. LsL clear coats their finished bodies, Fender doesn't. In all honesty LsL makes a great guitar, but they are still in the infant stage of developing their finish work. Money wise, the Fender looks and feels priced accordingly when setting next to the LsL.
Acoustically, both were equally resonant and loud.
Neck pup... LsL, the BC seems a little dark like a 52 RI neck pup to me.
Bridge pup, They both seemed about equal (Guitarrez inventory LsL), Fender did a good job. Money wise, the LsL is a bargain when played next to the Fender.
But, I have a mid 60's grey bottom pup in mine and it edged out all the other Fenders in the shop (that we tried) (all of the shop personnel agreed), I imagine in the BC, it WILL be equally incredible ;)
Even though the BC is a nice CS production guitar that seems overpriced, it definitely has the mojo. Knowing that the first Fullerton 52 RI's doubled in value, it's a no brainer that these will be collectable... being reliced means you get to play it until you decide to sell it.
I decided that between the quality of the BC, the investment potential, the tonal potential (my coveted bridge pu and a Harmonic Design Mini Strat neck pup) that I should get one... I am trade/selling current gear and consolidating my assets into one instrument.
