I have a 50 watt Marshall style head. Thinking of matching it up with a 212 convertible cab loaded with Eminence Private Jacks. Will these speakers be a good match for this type of amp? I'm hoping they will remain tight and punchy when pushed. Thanks in advance for the opinions.

I'm running a 1968 Traynor YBA-1 (somewhat modified - I recently received the amp, and the previous owner changed the trannies, and some other stuff (I haven't bothered taking a closer look to gain insight). I've build a 2x12 cab, but haven't purchased speakers yet.

I was also looking into the private Jacks, Swamp Thangs, Commonwealth, or Governor.

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.

There's one studio I work sometimes that has a "house" 4-12 with Private Jacks. Sounds great with the heads I bring in. Can't predict how a 2-12 will hold up with a 50w head.

2x12 blues breaker cabs are often paired with JTM-45s aren't they?

The previous owner of the YBA-1 (50ish watts) used a 4x10 cab, or a 2x12 - I'm not sure what was loaded into the 2x12.
