View Full Version : How do I add the neck PU to the bridge position on a 5-way?

If I put a jumper cable from the open lug on the 5-way and patch it to the neck + lug, will that combine the neck and bridge when the 5-way is in the bridge position?

I assume the neck will also be added to the bridge/middle position? Will it effect any other positions?

Will wiring a resistor (or pot) within the above jumper lower the amount of the neck pickup that will be added to the bridge?

Thanks.

Only way I've found to do it is by installing a 5 way superswitch. It has a ton of lugs on it and you can get whatever combinations you want.

stewmac sells a Schaller Mega switch (model E) that is a 5-way where you can get the neck/bridge in the middle position.

A quick and dirty way to do it is use a mini-switch or push pull that does a "bridge on no matter what". That way, if you switch to the neck position and pull or flip the switch, you get Neck + Bridge. If you do the Neck + Middle and switch it... you get all three.

you can also wire in a blend pot and achieve the same results.

Thanks for the responses. I do have a superswitch laying around, but I don't think I'll need it if the above works.

Are you saying the above is correct and will work?
