Pro's and Con's of each?
Is one better than the other?

I generally prefer cathode bias because of the smoother breakup characteristics. But obviously, a lot depends on the rest of the circuit, too.

I used to own a carr slant 6v and you could select between a fixed bias pair and a cathode biased pair of 6v6,s. The cathode bias was very rich, chimmy, and smooth with very complex overtones. The fixed bias had more bounce, better base, more3 deffinition, and just overall more room around the notes. Really cool amp and I liked both positions but used the fixed bias more unless I was playing in a small venue.;)
