So I know this pedal isn't true bypass, but i heard it has a great buffer chip in it. So to those who have it, does it have any effect on your tone when the pedal is not engaged and not in an effects loop?

I've been running this pedal for awhile.

Three great things about it:

(1) Most importantly, it sounds great. The most inspiring delay I've used, period, and I've had a lot of analog delays and 1 or 2 other digitals.

(2) It runs off my Pedal Power 2+, unlike the other Nova pedals.

(3) I don't notice any tone suck, and I think it's probably great that there's a good buffer at the end of 5 true bypass pedals.

I'm going to compare the sounds with and without this pedal in the chain (turned off), and then I'll get back to you.

I don't hear any change in tone, but i'm using SS amps, so there's not a lot worse my tone can get.

^Does the PP2+ have a switch to run at 12v or are you running it at 9v?

You need to use #5 or #6 outlet to power the Nova Repeater. Don't forget to move the DIP switch away from normal and you will have 12V @ 250mA.

I never had any problem w/ tone suck w/ regards to using the Nova Repeater. As for Nova pedals being powered w/ the PP2+, the only Nova pedal that cannot be powered w/ the PP2+ is the Nova Drive which needs 400mA. Although you can use the supplied wallwart and power it thru the courtesy outlet.

I just bought my 2nd repeater and sold my Nova Delay. If I am honest with myself it's my favorite delay next to the rackmount 2290.

I have two Nova Repeaters. I'm very picky, and I don't hear any issues with the NR bypass. It's a great delay. I will add that there is much more clean headroom at 12V. I use them with a dedicated T-Rex Juicy Lucy power supply.

Can you further explain your "tone suck" issue w/ the Repeater? Is this first hand experience or hearsay?
I've owned a Repeater since they first came out and never had issues, whether my effects were thru a chain or thru a true bypass loop switch. There is modulation that is adjustable on the Repeater as well as a tone knob. If tone suck still occurs, maybe the entire chain needs to be checked out, including cables. Can you further elaborate on your scenario?

No tone suck here... I would also suggest checking out your whole board and cables if you are getting suckage.

Not being a jerk. But forming your subject title into a question or even putting a question mark at the end would have helped bring some clarification. When I saw the title it looked to me like you were making a statement about a product and not asking a question about a product you don't have.

Anyone care to compare the tone of the Nova Repeater to the T-Rex Replica?

When I read the first post, it seemed like this:

Boutique pedals kill

I know that lightning kills people. Lightning is a form of electricity, which runs through boutique pedals. I've heard that boutique pedals don't have high enough voltage to kill, and are generally safe. Anyone here ever had problems with it?

I think they're just trying to be funny.
But I have a Nova Modulator. This is my second one. The first one I traded a way 'cause I thought it was a noisy POS through the loop.
Well...........it wasn't the box it was the F'n amp!!! I've fixed the loop and with my second one I guess it's twice is the charm. It's quiet when on and no signal, it doesn't seen to have any drag on the signal when not engaged and to me it's one of the best digital flavored boxes out there.
I want the delay in a big f'n way. LOL. Peace. J.J.B.

I'm sorry, I hadn't meant to come across that way. Next time I'll be a little more factual in stating my point, instead of stating a way in which a post might come across.

Thanks!

Under advanced edit you change your answer into a form of a question like on Jeapordy.

Apology accepted thank you..I just felt like i was being mocked. On a related topic my Nova Repeater just came in the mail today and i LOVE IT! I A/B'd it with plugging straight into the amp and didn't notice any tone loss at all, I'm very pleased :)
