two rock jet or a d'lite 22. the zingaro is cool but 50 watts i believe and i don't know how heavy it is. a jet or jet sig is 20-35 watts depending on tubes, and 35 lbs in a combo.

I'm building an HRM w/Skyliner and feeding a lone EL-84. The finished combo should
allow me to tote a guitar in one hand and the amp in another without any wounding
to the feeble old fart I'm quickly becoming.

Those who know say you can only get that Dumble tone with a 100 Watter and their
point doesn't lack merit. I'm hoping that I can get close without too much disappoint-
ment. lulz.

Shall we say "coming soon" ? End of year. Maybe at North Carolina and LA amps shows, certainly at the NAMM show.

This sounds cool- I don't know if the issue is watts or the need to have 100 of them (watts) to get a certain tone..

Still- a single EL84 power stage is going to be in the 10-12 watt range?

What's the tranny set up? How 'about your gain stages to drive that single sentry of power?

Are you keeping track of your build on TAG?

As for the OP request. A standard Fuchs ODS 30 is the right answer. Further- there is a used Brownnote unit listed here (http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?t=770108) that seems to fit the bill quite well. The D'lite does a 44/22 power shift so..

The other one I would look at is This Fuchs (http://www.thegearpage.net/board/This%20Fuchs)

I would look at these.....all of them can be built in a combo configuration for portability.

Well, currently in "working mule" configuration (a work in progress), but the basic deal should be quite interesting. It's both a non master and master volume amp: It shares tone controls between channels, it has a gain boost that works on clean and dirty (and also keeps the tone controls working in boost mode), a two knob digital reverb right out of our Verbrator and Good Verbrations (dwell and level), an OD output tone control too. The input stage is unique, and imho this guy does Fendery cleans, and the OD has an excellent D-style to Marshall range. It screams with buckers... :D Still toying with pricing, but likely not far from the original BJ-21/L7 price points...EL-34, 6V6 or EL-84 in the L-7, and 6V6 or EL-84 in the Blackjack.....an EL-34 40 watt version (possibly Train iron based) could be coming...now leave me alone, so I can enjoy my solder and coffee.....

Damn Andy, I have been a secret fan for years(must be 10+) but never had the $$ to afford one, I was trying to stretch my budget for a Clean Machine this spring, but life came in the way and I had to buy something else(an excellent amp though, way happy)

Those new additions look killer, I have to start saving!

After getting good tubes and learning (all the time, still) to dial it in,

I'll say the Fuchs ODS 50 is a goldmine of Dumble tones.

Diezel Schmidt does it all from clean to D-mean at 30 watts and reducable to 15 watts. Organic, with feeling and flexible. They ain't cheap, but well worth the extra cost.

Thanks Andy. Sounds amazing. I have a friend who has a Carol Ann which according to him sounds similar as far as Dumble meets Marshall goes. Would be cool to be able to stack the two ala Joe Bonamassa in a single amp...Hmm...idea? Dumble in Channel one. Marshall in channel two. Ability to run both channels simultaniously. Each side with a seperate output or could be combined into one cab. If I only knew how to solder....

The 50 watt 4 ohm Fender Bassman transformer that you would likely find in an actual 50 watt Dumble combo with an 8 ohm speaker would be making about 30 watts at best anyway, just sayin'. . .

You might already be closer than you think, and with more options too.

Good luck!

wow, that new version of the Lucky 7/Blackjack 21 looks great!

another option is the fairly new Reinhardt Sonoma...85 watts but can also be done as a 4 6v6 amp for about 50 watts and he will also do a 20 watt version upon request. I played a Sonoma at Bob's house a while back and it is a killer killer amp...I am no Dumble expert but it seems to get a lot of those famous tones and also has cool mid-boosting options to bring some cool British tones (obviously a common point of reference for Bob). I think it is really versatile and can get cool dumbly tones but can also do other stuff.

here is a link to the Sonoma part of the Reinhardt site with some great clips: http://reinhardtamps.com/files/Sonoma.html
