I grew up and would catch Bob Ross painting various nature scenes and that guy facinated me. Now, about 20 years later, I just rediscovered him on a whim and love it. Great painter for his genre. Fun to watch. And good god, the most relaxing thing I've ever watched (puts me to sleep faster than anything on the market! ;))
Anyone else dig this guy?

My youngest son watches him all the time. He loves it and is 6.
I don't know if he understands it's not a kids show.
I like him but he makes me nervous. He will have the picture perfect then he will put a huge line of paint on and I'm like oh no he ruined it! Then he fixes it.

Love him. I even started a weird funk project called the Bob Ross Project. I believe the other guys are still jamming every once in a while with another drummer.
Like Bob, our mission was to start with an idea for a jam and then improvise over it with happy trees (momma smacking funk) and smacking paint brushes (the heavier side).
Man I miss those guys sometimes.

I love his innocence and kindness. I learned a lot from his painting too. If you are painting nature, you can do whatever you want! He just seemed like a good person.

not a painter....but i think his voice drops my blood pressure about 10 points.
A great human being. I've watched his shows for years and I don't even paint. May he R.I.P.

He's great. I was watching him just the other day and he shared the fact that when he was traveling to shows he wouldn't listen to the radio, instead he listened to a CB! He felt you could learn more from a CB than you ever could from a radio! :rotflmao:rotflmao

Love him.
Can't get enough of that voice.. so chill.. I took up painting because of him.
Beat the devil out of that brush and just splatter some paint.. it'll end up looking like a tree. Just relax. It's just a painting. You can do whatever you want.

Yep... watched him faithfully every Saturday morning for years. My only gripe with his paintings was that he had a knack for screwing up an awesome landscape with a cabin in the foreground:hide2.

I sometimes wonder if ol' Bob hadn't been smoking some of those "happy little trees".

You know if he did he'd be like "This happy little plant, it just loves to be smoked."

I can remember staying home because of being sick as a kid and watching his afro paint.
I can remember the day he passed as well. it was right around July 4. Maybe 1996... I stood on a picnic table and had the entire 4th of july party toast to bob ross. sniff sniff sniff... sob sob sob.

I love that cartoon on Adult Swim where Bob Ross is driving down the street, spots this little gang banger kid tagging somebody's house, and stops to give the kid pointers on his technique.
That was some funny sh*t right there.

I liked his attitude and the way he presented art as something for everyone to do.

I bought an easel, pallette, paint and canvas about 15 years ago. I painted two pictures right away and have never gotten back to it. I'd like to buy some DVD's and try again sometime. My kids would think it was fun, too.

Watched him for years as a kid. Seems like a kind soul AND he has the 2nd greatest all-time white guy fro next to Santana-era Neal Schon!

Always thought he was great. Never painted in my life, but would be mesmerized by watching him.

His voice sounds like quaaludes. I remember my mom recording all of his shows when I was a kid. When I would have a bad case of insomnia I would through in one of those tapes and pass blissfully out.
