I had heard that he had outed himself last week. He did take away the whole mythology of the character by doing that.

Clark Kent is Superman!

When asked who might replace Collins, Clarkson said: "Richard can't drive and James is too slow. We'll get somebody, don't you worry. Top Gear is damaged but not out. I'd love to have [David] Cameron do it.

Well duh....that's why he's called Capt. Slow!
I knew this would happen...how about just having a celebrity race driver...ala Lewis Hamilton...do the laps?

Because Lewis Hamilton's head had won't fit in most cars. :hide2

Really, an active F1 driver doesn't have the time for such silliness. Maybe they cold get a semi-retired driver like David Coultard, Mika Häkkinen, Jacques Villeneuve, Kimi Räikkönen, Nigel Mansell, etc...

Same as the 1st one! What makes them all want to write a book? Like Jeremy Clarkson said today "You may remember a film called Wall Street in which Gordon Gekko said greed was good and greed works. It doesn't, if you're watching this children, greed is bad."

Clarkson saying "greed is bad"? Pot, meet kettle.

Collins made ~ £70k per season, while Clarkson makes an estimated £2 million! :facepalm

Stig just drove cars. Probably 1 or 2 days of work a week for 15-20 weeks a year.

Clarkson writes and produces the show. I'd guess he puts some energy towards the show on a daily basis during the year.

And they can always bring in a new Stig. I'd say it's time for grey Stig.

I don't know who is who but the dude in the picture needs a good dental cleaning. I don't understand these rich dudes who have sh!t teeth.

There is a comedy bit I hear now and again that's right on point about this.

From what I've heard ... British National Health doesn't cover dental after the age of 12 ...

Maybe just a rumor, but .... those teeth

Presenter, yes... writer, sort-of... producer, never.

Does he deserve to earn more than Collins for his contribution to one of the most widely watched shows in the world? Absolutely!

However, given his many pointed (and clueless) comments over the years regarding politics and economics, saying "greed is bad" is still clearly a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

And as for the teeth, well... that's what decades of smoking will do!
