Home-made pedalboard. That's an Empress Trem that's cut-off on the bottom row. And I've since swapped-out the redundant Little Big Muff and put the Fender Blender back on. Oh, and I like red.
EDIT: better photo

I just finished putting it all back on and getting it working... its a lil bit messy but i'm pretty OCD so it'll all be cleaned up soon.. I love it though, i'm running from a Custom 24 PRS to a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe.. I also have a fender strat I run through it.. sounds really good.. if anyone's got any questions, I love talking about it all...

Thanks. I picked up that custom pickguard way back in the early days of ebay. Only half of the screw holes lined up but it looked cool, so its been on ever since.

Yo Nuno, you should consider throwing that OC3 over where the BD2 is in your chain. I recently moved mine to the front of my chain (after wah) and the difference is astounding. I was about to give up on the OC3 but the new placement has really brought the pedal alive. The tracking was MILES better. just a thought. nice board!
Then again you do rock the POG so you probably know your octaves. Do you ever stack the POG and OC3? I do that using the OC3 and a whammy IV on one of the harmonizers, and LOOK OUT. it's like 10 guitars. I imagine you get some nasty B-3 like tones out of that rig.
nuno81291
07-30-2007, 11:58 PM
Yeah!! I use the POG mainly for the Organ sound, but also for some more obscure octave effects, I have the OC-3 set as my heavy riff/funky riff pedal, straightfoward down an octave stuff!
I also have some stuff that I love to run the OC-3 into the POG, and get as you said, a complete assault of sound!
Incase you guys think im nuts, the chain is
guitar->wah, dist pedals->amp
then in the loop is GE-7, then p90,oc3,tu2,pog,ss,sc,dd6 then to the rc-2.
Alot easier to use that dang RC-2 when it is upfront.

I made my first pedalboard today. I had some time to myself so I did work. I ressesed the dc brick in to the side with ventilation etc for heat dissapation. I made some piping up to give it the marshall look. I also made up some channel for hiding the pwer wires etc. Take a peek at it. Any suggestions appreciated.I dont know how to post actual pics on this page so here are the links to the pics.

Thanks. They are two A/B boxes. The clean chain is a/b box-- Echoplex into the Fender. The main A lead chain is a/b box--1973 King Vox Wah--Octavio--KR Megavibe--1968 Dallas Arbiter Fuzz(silicon)--Roger Mayer Voodoo 1--TS-808--Arion SCH-1 Chorus--Boss FV300L--Ibanez Echomachine. The second B lead chain is: 1977 MXR flanger--1975 MXR Phase 90--Echoplex--Boss GE-10. It is a three amp setup.
The Octavio is great. One of the coolest new pedals on the market.

It's off of a guy that's on a Dutch guitar forum. It's pretty much the same as the one that's offered by loop-master.com. (but without the polarity switch) My original Boss footswitch kept falling off and was a lot bigger too, so...
Thanks for your comments, I have a Fulldrive2 Mosfet in the mail and I'm def. taking off the Echo Park. It sounds great, but doesn't add anything at this point.

I just got a KoT a little while ago. Your settings are EXACTLY the way I set mine - weird!! How do you have the internal dip switcheS set? I have 2 and 4 on, 1 and 3 off (obviously) to get as much gain out of it as possible. It allows me to stack the left and right both as gains instead of having a boost on one side. Try it, I think you'll dig it. Maybe not.

After a long search for Delay, Chorus and Flanger I ended up with the Maxon.
Although I dislike using words like organic and natural this best describes the Maxon range in general.
The AM CC just beat the Maxon CS-505 but it's one a few keepers in the cupboard.
Inscho, where's that Cheese clone and how do you feel 'bout OCD nowadays?

the big cheese clone came from mark at olcircuits.com

updated, got the Line 6 replacing a Replica, i don't think it's a better delay, but it kicks ass for practicality playing live. love the presets, and the tap tempo is actually better in my experience. Got rid of Supa Trem too.

I'm *this* close to pulling the trigger on a few BYOC pedals from the Ormsby himself. Lazy Sprocket, Envelope Filter and the Trem. I've got a supa-trem too, but i'm thinking of letting it go, i just don't need so many foot-switches for a trem. I only really use it for one sound.

Hbentley, I really like your board. I sat in front of my monitor for at least five minutes staring at it just now. So many great choices and I believe we have very similar tastes, since I have five of the pedals you have on my own board and plans to get a Fuzz Factory, Tim, POG, VB-2, and DM-2 in the near future. Great job! :drool

em3m3, i'd love to see your board...it does sound like we have similar taste
jono, i'm loving the vb-2 man! thanks!! the fkr is a great pedal. it's a little too much pedal for me though. i have it up for trade in the emporium. i'm not much of a tweaker, and it's just more than i want to think about i guess (probably the same reason i didn't love the tap-a-whirl). as for the pog, it's one of my favorite pedals ever. it can sound massive! i got the gold klon from another forumite here at TGP.

I used to have an NGM. If you don't tweak one of the Barbers, i.e. you leave them in the same setting all the time, you may be able to remove the knobs and slide it under the 2nd tier (assuming you don't have a power supply under there) with just the footswitch exposed. I used to do this with my little lanilei reverb.

I just found some. Orange county speakers has em. GLS audio, with a fiberglass insulator over the connections. The insulator I think is important. Really reasonable.

Part # 32-232
The only question is, these have 1/4 inch opening, maybe these are too big for the mini cables (not G.L's, but that size) ?
I guess I could give them some heat shrink tubing or use a ultra flexible coax for cabling?

If I remember correctly, someone sells batches of the GLS Audio ones for dirt cheap on eBay. I wanted to get some, but just bought some locally as needed... they are thin too, but just don't have a ground lug (not that that's necessary when the whole thing can take the ground with some good soldering.

I actually just replaced my FD2 10th with a BOR. They were both on my board for awhile, but I found myself using the BOR all the time and hardly ever using the FD2. It's different, but just sounded better and more versatile to my ears - the BOR actually does low to medium gain really well. Also, the BOR's boost is much more useable IMHO. I just recently got a Menatone KOTB for high gain, slotted the BOR for medium gain and have a Boost pedal and my amp's master volume channel for lower gain. I would say get the BOR, see how it works for you, and sell the one you don't want...

By next year you'll be pluggin straight in to the amp at this rate!
You may be on to something. ;)
I actually removed the DOD compressor yesterday and will eventually replace it with a Barber Tone Press. If I am able to score some gear money through sales or luck out via trades, I am also looking to score a Pigtronix OFO Disnortion, an ISP Decimator, and a Danelectro Fish'n'Chips EQ. That should round out my lineup nicely for a while ... until I am able to finally locate an affordable KORG PME 40X with all of the noise-friendly modules in it and/or a pair of Sans Amp Classics to replace by Behringer GDI21's.

http://www.xs4all.nl/%7Enetraam/zut/pedalboard_120807.jpg
The chain starts and ends with a Loopmaster box that is just there for tyding up (and for looking good, of course).
In order of appearance, the chain itself consists of:
- Budda Budwah
- Fulltone Full-Drive 2
- Fulltone Distortion Pro
- Ernie Ball VP Jr. => Boss TU-2
- Dirk_Hendrik Opto-Trem
- Danelectro Rocky Road
- Line6 DL4
I've come to use a One Spot powersupply, which so far has been great. Cables used are mostly George L's. Everything is mounted on a Pedaltrain PT-2.

Thanks dood. I got a strat, sg standard, and a brian moore, tele is next on the list. just picked up the USA blues junior last week. The rotary phaser sounds unbelievable going through 2 amps. the analogman man delay goes through the blues jr, the RV 3 goes through the fx loop of the marshall. I can get some great tones out of this set-up. i think im done.
ck3...how do you like your gi fuzz? how does it sound compared to other fuzzes?
I've been enjoying it a considerable amount. The GI Fuzz is one of the most versatile non-oscillating fuzzes that I have ever used. Six external knobs, an internal fuzz level trimmer, and a brightness contour switch allow for numerous fuzz textures, most of which lie somewhere between a silicon Fuzz Face and Tonebender. Though there are quite a few parameters to adjust, I have usually able to dial in a great, singing/snarling fuzz tones in a matter of minutes.

They were really really big and really heavy. Spliting more pedals among them would have made them a little less heavy, but then i'd have to drill everything, ruining the existing board to do so for wiring, and that is permanent. Also, the idea of having them up side by side was insane. it took up so much room. They were really tall, and these trains are just....easier.

Digilog hands down.
ad-80 has some oscillating things, but as it gets old...so does the wiring, the sensitivity or lack thereof in the stomp, no tb, 18 volts. I actually think the digilog sounds gorgeous, plus it is twice as long.

its basically i guess if you were to take a nice analog chorus and put it in a box with an echo sim that to me sounds like it might be what carl martin would do to a red repeat to make it 50 instead of 100 bucks.to buy it is to need a more boss sounding chorus than small clone type.
personally i use it as my tube clean chorus on a two amp set up.i run cleans through what you see in the bcb-30 to a musicman 110 rd fifty which is SS pre-amp/tube poweramp. and the DC-3 is the perfect "airy" chorus with that amp and its headroom to build loops with.i then usually improv over the extra clean loops with the H20 going through amp b which is a clean tube amp.this works best with cure stuff.pictures of you,to wish impossible things.i like setting the foundation with the dc-3 and playing the h20 over top of it.and speaking of the cure i would say the H20 can give you some very convinving smith tones.
i use it with more technical stuff as well, like manhatten by ej.it sounds wonderfull on that song.its not so much a recent purchase as it is finally getting some test time as i gotta say the non stereo jamman has made me have to rethink my rig layout like mcbillions of times just this summer alone.ive got a micro a/b from loopmaster on the way that will reveal the truth about what i am going to do.
i should also add that not only does the SD twin Tube give the musicman 2 channels, those tubes sound damn good going through a SS pre and then out some powertubes.
also i will make some clips of the dsd-2 being triggered by that 220 a soon.thanks for the inquiry:)

The swirly wahs are Landgraffs--the wait is eight months and pretty pricey. I would love to have one and checked into it, since John made my chorus on the board many years ago, but I really like the WOF wah.

Whammy I don't know, the only think I like it flicking it up 2 octaves mid riff but I find the tracking all over a bit crap, I think I'd end up with the Digitech EX-7 Expression Factory or what ever due to it doing the modes of the whammy I like and none I don't and those Space Station sounds but we'll see.

I took my whammy out of the equasion. You need to rehearse your intentions with it to use it live.. Our project / band / were jammers and the whammy sucks when trying to improvise or jam out you can ruin a good thing at the push of a button. Great for studio stuff but in a "Live" environment I think there not really that great of an idea. The tracking isnt that great, I must agree with you on that. - nice collection of pedals

Hopefully those little feet will get to play with that board someday! The blue box in the upper left is a rehoused Arion SCH-1 w/true bypass. The MusicomLab is a great switcher and perfect for pedalboards. The bottom of the board got discolored a little when I used super glue to help the zip tie holders adhere to the board.

What is the small box just above the EB volume pedal? The master guitar input/amp output box? Who made it?
Thanks,
James

This is one of the coolest and best thought out boards I've seen. I need to check out this switcher you have. Is the PT one I cut?

Thanks Ed! It certainly is one that you cut. I really like it. The MusicomLab switcher is awesome. No tap dancing, just one stomp and you're there.

The cables are mostly Bill Lawrence cables. I think there might be one or two George L's though. The BL cables are very similar to George L's but the ends are WAY better. The short plugs are perfect for pedalboards and they are much more stable than the GL angle plugs. 20pf per foot, so very low capacitance. And they're very easy to assemble and priced right.
