I'm just exploring lyricwriting ideas here, so please post examples. I did a quick google search and found Mr. Jones by Counting Crows. Any others?

I'm pretty burnt out from work so I can't think of any off the top of my head, but here is a thread I posted a while back on non-rhyming lyrics.

Moonlight In Vermont

Pennies in a stream,
Falling leaves, a sycamore..
Moonlight in Vermont.

Icy finger waves,
Ski trails down a mountain side
Snowlight in Vermont.

Telegraph cables, that sing down the highway
And travel each bend in the road,
People who meet in this romantic setting
Are so hypnotized by the lovely

Evening summer breeze,
Warbling of a meadowlark,
Moonlight in Vermont,

You and I and moonlight in Vermont.

"Fast Car" by Tracy Chapman immediately came to mind.

All I Wanna Do by Sheryl Crow. I've always liked that song and felt it was very well written.

That's the one I was going to mention. The greatest of the non-rhyming songs.

here's how I know I spend too much time on TGP: I woke up this morning, with two songs in my head, that i probably haven't heard in a decade each.
Guess what? both are songs that don't rhyme.

Don't Dream It's Over - Crowded House. Only the second verse rhymes.

Underwhelmed - Sloan

Just about any Pearl Jam song I ever heard...as near as I can tell. Remember the SNL skit where Adam Sandler is babbling nonsense syllables to the tune of Evenflow?
