I have recently installed a Blackout effectors musket fuzz on my board..I also have a Frantone Brooklyn overdrive that can also get into the fuzzy side of things..My other dirt pedals are a Zinky True Grit (Incredible pedal by the way) a Timmy and a Damage control liquid blues..
I find that the musket fuzz is an excellent pedal and does a great job of reproducing the Russian muff tones plus all the darker modern fuzz tones..This fuzz will never leave my board because i feel it is a fantastic pedal ..
What i'm not getting the best results with to my ears is reproducing the late 60's early 70's fuzz tones with the Musket fuzz..Specifically Hendrix dirty fuzz tones..What suggestion would other forum members have for another fuzz box that would compliment the musket fuzz..But not duplicate it..
One that i have had some thought about is the MJM London Fuzz ..Whats your opinion?

Not a fuzz expert like some, but I would look into a SI or Germanium Fuzz Face type of pedal. I opted for the Silicon Fuzz face and got a Hartman BC108. I run it at the beginning of my pedal chain. The musket I run after all my other dirt boxes.
I think your thought of the MJM London Fuzz is a great one, as I think that is based off a Germanium Fuzz Face.

Easy: Fix'd Fuzz :D The fix'd can get you Hendrix and more...Using the two fuzzes on the Fix'd, you can make it sound like you just took a knife to your speaker or like a mosquito on crack.
I have a Twosome, and the Musket and Fix'd on there really do compliment each other very well. I used to be in your same situation, then I sold the Musket and got the Twosome. Next to getting my Timmy, it's the best pedal-related decision I've ever made.
I don't know if I would like it nearly as much if I had the separate Musket and Fix'd pedals, though - besides the main differences of smaller footprint than the two individual pedals combined and having one DC jack for both pedals etc., the Fix'd side of the Twosome has knobs for controlling the gain of each of the fuzzes, while the individual Fix'd pedal has internal trimmers - that would be pretty inconvenient.
Only downside is that if you have the Twosome, you can't stack 'em with each other...but honestly, I haven't had the urge or the need to, and I doubt I ever will.
Hope that helps.

I love Fuzz Faces
For silicon, the Hendrix Fuzz Face is hard to beat - very good and warmer than others in that category that I've tried.
For Germanium (my preference) - really enjoying trying these out and using them into my Plexi's. I will have to try the Analogman Red Dot or White Dot someday, Theo Hartman's Vintage Germanium Fuzz has excellent tone, my Cornell 1st Fuzz rules!, Diaz Square Face is heavy yet cleans up snappy, had to get on the 69 Slight Return list just because limited edition, etc..., and the London Fuzz is great - just check out the proguitarshop demo on that one...

I'm a little confused here. Is the twosome the musket Fuzz and Fix'd fuzz combined into one pedal? I have not really explored that far into Blackout effectors pedal ..A friend had a Musket Fuzz and i played it one night after having a 20 year love affair with Russian muffs but always wishing they were better built and had a smaller front print ..After playing the Musket fuzz i knew i had to have one..

A Fuzz Face. Try the Foxrox Hot Silicon. It's fabulous. It does hendrix tones and more.

i have a sunface, a dunlop hendrix, and an axis (gypsy fuzz). love 'em all and use them alongside a muff-style (pig mine). mjm makes two kinds of london (germ and silicon). you CANNOT go wrong with mjm. often found at a steal used too. for the record, the dunlop hendrix is also a complete steal used and quite incredible.

Yeah, the Twosome is basically the Fix'd and Musket in one enclosure.

I recently got a Euthymia Crucible Fuzz and its amazing. It is a great sounding fuzz face and is available in either germ or silicon. I got mine open box at tonefactor for just over $100, give it a shot and see if they have any left. For the money they are a great option.

Fuzz face. I have a big muff I love it, buy I wanted a different flavor, got a Fuzz face and I never looked back. Mine is the MXR 108, it is really cool has a switchable buffer to make it play nick with neck pickups and wahs.
