I've tried Elixirs in the past and didn't like the tone in comparison to non-coated strings. To me, they had very little bottom end/bass.

Honestly, not sure if these were the nanowebs or not, I think they were.

I usually use non-coated D'addarios (mostly Phos Bronze or 80/20) and haven't tried their coated strings.

What coated strings do you like lately?

None. They all change the sound, and not for the better.

I agree with Ogre...I never like the coated string sound. Just a bit deader to my ears. For the price, I think it's better to change uncoated strings more often (lately I'm favoring Martin Phos/bronze, but there are other good ones out ther)

Coated strings definitely change your tone a bit.
Elixirs are not my favorite sounding strings BUT they are my favorite coated strings.
I have pretty acidic sweat so I have to use coated strings unless I want to change my string twice a week.

Dean Markley Alchemy, Gibson whateverthesort and... what's that new string out there... (?) You can't hear any difference between... treated and untreated. "Coated" is a relative nomen.
