I'm planning on assembling some cables. I've already bought a bunch of Neutrik plugs, and I just need to decide on what cables to use. I've been considering Canare and Mogami, and am willing to consider cables that are better than them, however, I don't know what other brands provide a fairly uncolored, clear sound. I assume I'd want cables that aren't bright like the GS-6 for my bass setup, but the Canare might work fine for my guitar setup. The thinner Mogami cable for patch cables? Or just avoid Mogami altogether and go with some higher end brand? These are the kind of questions I have in mind.

It's worth noting that my bass rig is much higher quality than my guitar setup, and the combination of the Smith bass, the EA head and the Bergantino cab really carries the sound evenly and clearly. So, I'd be willing to go for better cables for my bass rig because I think I'd notice the sound of higher quality cables, as opposed to my guitar amp, for which I just want good quality, durable (but also clear sounding) cables. If anyone can share thoughts, recommendations, or experiences they've had, I'd really appreciate it. Below is the gear I need cables for.

Bass

-20' Instrument cable for Euphonic Audio iAmp Pro/Bergantino NV 412 w/ Ken Smith Bass
-1 Speaker cable for amplifier to cabinet
-2 Cables for effects loop (for EBS Valvedrive)

Guitar

-20' Instrument cable for Fender Champ w/ Gibson SG
-Patch cables for MXR EQ Pedal, MXR Distortion+, MXR Phase 100, Electro Harmonix Q-Tron, Line 6 Echo Park Delay

Thank you for reading my post. :JAM

i use the exact same cables(radioshack) with both my guitar rigs and bass rig.

it rolls off a bit of high end which is very nice for the bass. unless they are very bright like george l's i wouldnt worry too much.

i use a 4003, blueline svt, and 18s for reference.

Thanks for the reply. I currently use a cable that rolls off top end for my bass, and to tell you the truth, that's what I'm trying to escape. I'm looking for a cable that will transmit the signal with the least amount of coloring possible (within reason; I'm not looking to pay $200 for a cable).

for my guitar rig, canare and mogami work really well. i have some monster stuff as well. the monster flattens the sound a bit imo. canare and mogami does it for me. nice and clear. love them.
