Lets see....agreement with, except:
Bucs win
Rams win (unless Best is back in full action)
Bears win
Raiders win
Agree, my Saints are hurting, but they've got to get the O going soon...
Ok
Saints over Cards. Banged up or not, Saints still can beat those guys.
Jags over Bills. A duh one.
Broncos over Ravens. My "what the heck" pick.
Colts over Chiefs. Chiefs have to lose at some point. And oh, that QB the Colts have, he's pretty good.
Texans over Giants. Giant's are still high from the Bears shelling. Texans are angry.
Bengals over Bucs.
Packers over Redskins. This one could go either way though.
Lions over Rams. My wishful thinking here.
Panthers over Bears. Pains me to say it. Bears SUCK.
Falcons over Browns. Another duh.
Cowboys over Titans
Chargers over Raiders. If the Chargers lose this one, it's over.
Eagles over Niners. Got some reservations on this one still. 49r's just may pull it out still.
Jets over Vikings. Jeez I sure hope so.

Could be. The attitude of the team has sure changed quick. While still short on overall talent, they are not that far off being a good 8-8 team. On the flipside, they haven't played a quallity opponent yet. In fact, they have one of the weakest schedules in the NFL.

Cheifs over Colts [I've gotta show love cause' I live in KC]
The more I look at this game, the more I like the Chiefs. Colts safeties are banged up, theyll mostly start a guy who couldn't even start for the Chiefs the last three years, when the Chiefs were really down. Colts run D is...um...not so good, while Chiefs running attack is coming on strong. Ball control, eat the clock, etc. Overall, the Chiefs are fired up and playing with a lot of confidence - everyone's believes in the system now. I think Romeo Crennel will find a way to pressure Manning.

Coming in at 31-31...here's my list of winners:
Jags over Buffalo
Cincy over TB
ATL over Cle
Rams over Lions (though I hope I'm wrong)
Indy over KC (welcome to 3-1)
Pack over Skins
DA BEARS over the Painters (unless Cutler throws for -13 yards again...though that might be enough...)
BAL over Denver
Giants over Texans (okay...I bought NYG D-Line big time)
NOLA over AZ (Cards are terrible)
Tenn over Dal
San Diego over Oakland (and the streak continues)
Iggles over Niners (even with Kolb)
Jets over Vikes (get Favre a crutch)

Even if Kurt Warner were still playing would have been forced off the field by 3rd quarter with that porous OL in front of him - it allowed 9 sacks in one game. I don't see how the Cards get to two digits in scoring against the Saints unless your boys allow a big return from The Hyphen.
The Chargers lose starting safety Steve Gregory for 4 weeks for violating the substance abuse policy (performance enhancer(s)). His replacement Paul Oliver won't be much of a dropoff though, as he's already the dime back. Both of them are just holding the fort though for rookie and eventual starter Darryl Stuckey. The newest Charger will probably take his place at dime - ex-Steeler Tyrone Carter.

The Giants pass rush is stout but they are mediocre against the run. Texans O-Line has been dominant at times and we have 3 outstanding backs.
The Texans offense is MUCH better than Chicago. Andre Johnson should be ready to go.
Eli will have to light it up for the Giants to win on the road.
Texans need to stay committed to the run.
And oh yeah, the AFC defensive rookie of the year is back, roids or not.
Saints vs Cards

Saints 24 Cards 17- Check
Jags over Bills- Check
Ravens over Broncos- Check
Colts over Chiefs [I'll believe in the Chiefs 100% if they win this game in Indy]- Definitely Check...remember the NYG game at the Luke.
Texans over Giants- Check..those Texans are gonna have their hands full though. The G-men are pissed.
Bengals over Bucs- Check
Redskins over Packers- Nope...but I like this as an upset pic. I'm still taking GB.
Lions over Rams- Nope...Rams pull it out.
Panthers over Bears- Nope...Da Bears rally behind the Collins and Urlacher.
Falcons over Browns- Check...close one though.
Cowboys over Titans- Check
Chargers over Raiders- Check
Eagles over Niners- Nope, SF takes it.
Jets over Vikings- Nope, Favre and Moss pull out all their junk and win it.

Texans' D will be in serious trouble if Mario can't go. He's a tough guy, though, and has played hurt many times. But an injury like that could sure slow him down.

This is the most important pre game practice sessios this year, by far for the O. I'm sure the timing of letting Moss go is tied to the bye week. Texans remain a mediocre work in progress.
To me, they don't really have an identity. They aren't ground and pound like the Jets, Steelers and Ravens and they aren't really finesse like the Colts
and Patriots.
I'll include the Chargers and Bengals in the same group as the Texans.
Talented rosters but not that scary.
Lions kicked some serious butt and took names. And my Bears won. Shocked even me. Of course Collins liked like a statue back there. If it weren't for an exceptional running game the first quarter we would have been killed!

We lost, but held on til the end. Cassel just ain't cutting it at QB. They need some separation and teams just aren't afraid of him. I blame that mostly on Chambers and Bowe who aren't spreading the field enough to really get teams off the run. All those dropped passes by Bowe killed KCs chances today. Perhaps KC should have been wheeling and dealing for Randy Moss?

Saints are way off - last year was injury free (pretty much) and included many lucky bounces - this year - not so at all.
Plus, everybody seems a half second/half step out of sync.
I'm a Kansan. Born and raised.
Yeah...well you lost today, brother. The '72 Dolphins opened the Champagne early this year. :D
Back on topic, Bulldog. You were beaten by a better (not even from the same planet) QB. Oh well... :)
If Cassel doesnt start throwing the ball...you're looking at another losing season.
Meanwhile, Indy's running game is improving.
Which makes our play action/air game much more respectable.
Peyton wasnt on as much in the first half, but made up for it in the 2nd half.
And Vinatieri is still $$$$.
Addai is working on his game and his yardage is picking up.
I've always like Hart better than Brown as the backup RB...and it looks like I'm being proved right there.
And what happened to the Saints????
And the Packers???
And the Cowboys???
And the Texans???
And the Chargers???
What a wkd!

Yeah...well you lost today, brother. The '72 Dolphins opened the Champagne early this year. :D Not sure what champagne you're talking about? Chiefs fans felt we were lucky to be 3-0.. I don't recall anyone busting open Champagne? I also believe I've said over and over I thought KC would lose both their 4th and 5th game (we play the Texans next week). If anything, we proved today that we're one of the best defensive teams in the league and with a few pass completions (IE: Bowe doesn't drop passes), we're as good as anyone in the league. KC was the underdog in this one and almost pulled it out with solid defense.
Back on topic, Bulldog. You were beaten by a better (not even from the same planet) QB. Oh well... :)
And the KC defense did a pretty sharp job of taking him out of the game and forcing Addai and Hart to beat them. If the young kids in KC can do, it everyone will try. Colts fans should be wary. You're running game is poor and your defense, while fast, has holes all over it. They kinda look like last years Giants and Pats...
If Cassel doesnt start throwing the ball...you're looking at another losing season.
I don't think so. I think KC lives and dies by their pass protection. If they can keep opponents from passing, they can beat them by controlling the clock. Cassel doesn't have to throw more... but Bowe and Chambers have to catch a few more. Drops lost us this game.

Saint's game is easy to understand:
Ladell Betts [5-6 deep on depth chart] had an F- game. Absolutely the worst game I've seen a pro player play.
2 fumbles that equalled an easy 14 points. One directly returned for a TD, one that gave them the ball inside the 10. Cost 2 time outs that were HUGE at the end of the game [didn't line up correctly].
The Saints defense held the Cards to 194 total yards. You really have to try hard to lose a game like that.
Turn the ball over, you lose. Period.
We need PT and Reggie back badly. Moving on...

Not sure what champagne you're talking about?
You know...they always pop the Champagne in Miami when the last undefeated team loses during a season.
I also think that KC's pass defense wont win games if they can't stop the run at crucial points.
Plus, if you cant pass...your running game gets zeroed in on, and you lose anyway.
Finally...I think you (and everyone else in the NFL) are underestimating Indy's running game. Addai and Hart can get it done (and did today).
What I'd like to see is our O-line get a little tougher protecting Peyton, and our secondary getting a little more
consistent. Oh, and someone needs to tell Freeney to cover the edge for those teams without a stellar passing game...and let Robt Mathis take care of the QB in his absence.

Sheesh...Chargers give up 9 points on special teams and an offensive fumble gives up another 7. They've been downright dominant on offense (506 total yards today), but have too many crucial turnovers (two RZ fumbles and one on the Oakland 33 while trailing by 1). Detroit might be the best 1-4 team, but I'm certain the Chargers are the best 2-3 team.

I thought Rivers was gonna throw for over 500 yards:bonk but breakdown in special teams and fumbles hurt that team..One thing about Rivers, though, if there is a more fiery competitor at Quarterback than that guy I wanna see him, he doesn't back down from anything or anybody...I think Rivers now has the most yards thrown on the season and will remain in the top 5 in QB rating...
but who cares when your team is 2-3. I wish I could be more excited about Rivers throwing like the elite QB San Diego has expected.

Norv Turner makes me throw up in my mouth, actually having the gaul to say that some parts of special teams were actually improved. I feel sick for Rivers, Gates, and Floyd...these guys deserve to win.
The darn coaching staff is trying to use situation guys, ie. Tolbert, Sproules, Nanee etc...as actual running backs/receivers, which just aint going to happen. They can be great, but are still situation players and are only appropriate as such, not as every down guys.
The management needs to get Rivers the protection he needs (thank god McNeil will be back next week!), an every down back/receiver who is not a rookie. Not to mention the bonehead move to get rid of Osgood, that was a good move.
I can hear Norv Turner telling AJ Smith that his team is going to be OK without LT, Osgood, McNeil, Jackson, and the like...the problem is that all these guys cant be replaced by just any player; its unfortunate the frustration I saw in LT is starting to show in Rivers now...almost like he has accepted the fate that hes just not going to get the support that he deserves. Its disgusting to see amazing players lose their fire because of DEAD coaces/owners who dont support them with the best supporting cast possible, and take responsibility for their coaching flubs.
Congrats BigMike, that was a big win.

LT? He was done in SD. It took him a move to a new team and a fresh start with one of, if not the best, run blocking lines in football to look good. As far as the rest of the personnel woes go, that is all on AJ Smith, "The Lord of No Rings".
I do think the ST coach is going to get canned.

yeah, i thought that too, plus his injuries...but the more i think about it, did he have blocking, a nice full back...how about linemen that create a hole for him to run through? the answer is no, he didnt have the support he needed either to succeed even if he was healthy.

The 49ers really are that bad.
I wouldn't say that. I'd say the 49ers are actually quite good. Crabtree and Davis looked great last night. They just don't have anyone with any confidence to throw to them. If Smith would stay in the pocket and pass to Davis, they'd have killed Philly. It was open all night.

I also think that KC's pass defense wont win games if they can't stop the run at crucial points.
Plus, if you cant pass...your running game gets zeroed in on, and you lose anyway.
Were you watching the game? KC gave Indy the run. They NEVER had 8 guys in the box. Mostly they just played 6 and drop the rest into coverage. Took Manning out of the game. Of course Addai and Hart got yards. KC gave them them, knowing they couldn't do anything in the red zone. And guess what, on 5 attempts, they got 1 TD. 20% success rate. I'll gamble my chances on a 1-5 chance they make the end zone.
KC lost this one, not because Indy's offense was good (it wasn't), but cause KC couldn't complete passes, which has been a major weakness for years. If Bowe can hold onto the football, this is a different football game. KC could really use a wide receiver cause Bowe and Chambers aren't it.

I think they have something as well...it hasn't developed fully for them yet but there is something going on with that team. This is coming from someone who's never liked the 49ers. I find them facinating to watch in the 4th quarter

I do agree with the other guy that the Jets OL is better at run blocking than the Chargers.
However, Tolbert and Matthews have had some huge holes for them at times this year. The rushing attack is not as dominant as the Jets' but has jumped from the 30s to middle of the road in NFL team rushing rank going from 2009 to 2010. Tolbert/Matthews have pretty much the same OL and FB blocking for them that LT had last year. The only thing holding back the Chargers running game is the fumbles. LT was more secure with the ball in 2009 - I have to give him that at least.

I'll include the Chargers and Bengals in the same group as the Texans.
Talented rosters but not that scary.
They're trying to have balance but why they would come out throwing against a hot Giants' pass rush when you were leading the league in rushing with 3 healthy backs I'll never understand.
One brilliant thing the Giants did was to get their arms up into the passing lanes because the Texans throw between the numbers a lot. It took until the 2nd half for Houston to adjust and start bootlegging.
By not establishing the run, turning the ball over and getting behind early, Houston had to start throwing and that played right into the Giants' strength. Also, the running plays were terrible calls. The Giants clogged up the gaps and Houston didn't even attempt to get to the edge with a stretch play or HB toss.
Gary Kubiak got his coaching ass handed to him yesterday.
Oh and the Saints . . . thanks for costing me my last pick in my knockout pool. Awful.

The Texans were in "2nd and 10" way too many times - It appeared that Kubiak panicked and gave up on running the ball way too early...
Once that happened, the Giants D came across that line with their jocks cinched up and their hair on fire on every 2nd and 3rd down...
And there's nothing positive that can be said about the Texans' D - except maybe that there's no way to go but UP from here...

Norv wants the Chargers to be a passing team, with just enough of a running game to slow down the opposing pass rush. Why not, as they have the #1 passing offense and #1 overall offense. I'm sure he didn't count on special teams derailing the season (to date) though.

I think teams like the Steelers and Ravens can shut down any passing team. You can get by during the regular season, but eventually you'll need a good running game. Unless you have Manning or Brady.
Maybe I'm wrong, but Rivers and the Chargers have been making a living out of playing in an unbelievably crappy division for a while. I don't consider them to be a top 4 afc division team. Maybe 5th.

The Steelers did a good job vs. the Chargers last year until the 2nd half, in which they relaxed and gave up 4 quick TDs.
The Ravens were also victorious but did give up 436 pass yds, 2 passing TDs.
I still think both have good pass Ds, don't get me wrong, but both won because the Chargers at the time could not stop anybody's running game.
Norv thinks Rivers is his P. Manning, but that debate will not be settled this year. The toughest opponent pass D on the schedule is the Bengals.

You're not getting it...there have been alot of past games with 6 rushing instead of 8...and Addai is running better this season compared to the last 2 seasons. I dont think the O-line is any better or worse than last year or the year before. Addai is running smarter and with more energy and urgency...and that WILL translate to more yardage this season, I predict (IF he stays healthy).

I love their two headed running attack. One is going to run over you and the other is going to make you miss. Their defense is solid. Their O-line is solid. Their receivers are making plays.

That's why we Charger fans were so excited to see Cromartie emerge in 2007 as a Pro Bowl talent. His NFL combine time was not close to his true speed, as he was coming off an injury. When he really wants to play, no WR can outrun him, and he's a terror on returns off of picks. While I've mentioned his faults before, he does bring those things to the table.
The Giants had a comparably fast CB in the Superbowl - I think it was Aaron Ross - he posted the fastest 40 time of all CBs in his class. Having one of those to run with Moss helped a lot in that upset win.

The NFL and The Jets are both businesses. If Ben had in fact raped that girl, neither the NFL or The Jets could be held liable. Ben would pay 100% of the penalty.
Because both Favre and Sterger were employees of The Jets and the NFL, both businesses could be held liable for their employees sexual harassment.
So Goodell, being the commissioner and in charge of keeping the best interests of the businesses he represents in mind, can't let Favre walk away from this unscathed.

It is a bit different. You are not the face of your company. The Ben fiasco cost the NFL in revenue, how many female/kids Rapistberger jerseys are they going to sell this year?
How much would Sterger really get anyways? She was never pressured into anything and seems like everything happened during off hours. She didn't file sexual harassment, and there is probably no way the NFL can prove the authenticity of the pictures. The voice mails are pathetic but harmless.
The conduct policy is clearly not about bottom line dollars. It is about upholding Nfl players to a higher standard than other sports.

The conduct policy is clearly not about bottom line dollars. It is about upholding Nfl players to a higher standard than other sports.
I'm not even sure what Favre is suppose to have done (not only with Sterger but supposedly with a couple of female massage therapists) would fall under the personal conduct code. Again, one employee sexually harassing 1 or even more co-workers.
In today's litigious society I'd imagine Goodell is going to want a clear and strong message sent to the rest of the employees of the NFL. Especially on the heels on the NY Jets and that Hispanic reporter.
In that instance it was a number of members of the Jets and their staff involved so much harder to punish any single person. Brett is riding this wave all alone.
We can debate this all we want, but I'd rather sit back and see what happens.

Has anybody ever been suspended for a first time offense that didn't involve criminal activity or drugs?
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5670800
Under the personal conduct policy, the commissioner has wide latitude in disciplinary matters. Even a first-time violator can face suspension if he is determined to have damaged the reputation and the integrity of the NFL.
I can't believe he didn't do it. If I was accused and didn't do it, I'd be screaming it from the rooftops.

Calling a co-worker and trying to get together with her is arguably worse than raping a girl in a bathroom stall? Wow...
You don't know that. If it was proven he "raped" or tried to rape her, he'd be in jail.

That's what amazes me if this turns out to be true.
How absolutely stupid can you be?
Send pix of yourself to a stranger? No chance that's gonna end up on the internet...

Considering the guy is so full of himself and the fact that the universe revolves around him, are you really that surprised?

Yes and no.
Boy, talk about going from 'highly revered, best ever' to ending your career in an embarrassing scrap heap. :messedup
I'd love to know if Deanna has seen said photos, and what her reaction was...

I'm not making excuses for him, but he seems like a really dim guy who is cursed with money and fame. Most men can't handle it, not even the smart ones.
He leads a bizarre life as soon as he walks out the door. He can't walk ten feet without people running up to him, telling him how great he is, posing for pictures with him. Throw in millions of dollars and smoking hot women willing to sleep with him at the drop of a hat... never having to wait in line or pay a check at a restaurant... star-struck people making fools of themselves...most men can't handle it and most start really believing they are God. Very few guys like this lead solid lives and remain loyal to wives and family. He was just dumb enough to leave an internet trail.
It's not just athletes, it's CEO's and wealthy and powerful people in all industries... we've never dealt with such a bizarre lifestyle.

It is completely unprecedented and has never happened before, so anyone that says it is a sure thing is clueless. Maybe some of the guys on TGP are drinking buddies with Goodell.
I would not address it with the media if I was in his situation. Addressing it gives it validity.

It hasn't been "proven" Favre did anything inappropriate either. Those pictures are gonna be pretty hard to prove even if they are real. I doubt the NFL would make Favre drop his pants for an inspection.

If you were Favre meeting with Goodell, and he point blank asked you if that was you in the picture, what would you say?

If I was Bret, "uhhh, hmmm uhhh, I don't believe that was me at that time in those uuuhhh pictures."

I'd say "I didn't do it. Period. Not answering anymore questions about it."

Mrs. Favre could testify. I'm sure she's not too pleased right now if this is real. I was just reading on another site that they almost split due to his cheating earlier in their relationship [quoted from her book].
I'd think she'd have a pretty good paycheck coming out of all this if it's true.

It's a tough decision because this is a judgement call on Goddell's part and players have got in more trouble for lying than their actions.
If Sterger doesn't confirm the story Favre can deny it and probably get off. But you have to figure the plastic-titted bimbo will start singing like a canary very soon if the Favre camp doesn't throw money at her.

By remarking on it, he makes it ok for them to have "claimed" he did it. And it's not ok. His choosing not to answer is exactly the correct course.

Well, it says to me [my opinion only]:
"I'm not going to deny it, because when it's shown that I did do it, I look even worse..."
I don't care what lawyers would tell me or whatever, I'd be screaming from the rooftops if I was innocent. Doesn't help that his own wife has said he's done it before...

And what this says to me Craig is that you are more concerned with protecting yourself than protecting what is right and decent.
It's not ok if Brett sent such photos. But the person who made it public is far more unpleasant and indecent. If Brett responds to questions, it makes their indecency acceptable, and it is not.

Cause we all know that a guy who sends pix of his junk to someone he's not married to is highly concerned about "protecting what is right and decent".
Again, he's cheated on his wife before [according to her].
