I'm really interested in the Octafuzz-2. I want to know how is the volume? My current fuzz pedal just drops out of the mix when I turn it on. I know it's due to the heavy compression. But I was wondering if maybe Fulltone has given it more available "gas" to compensate. Thoughts?

I have an original Fulltone Octafuzz and it cuts through really well whether the octave is on or off. It doesn't get lost like a Fuzz Face. It seems to have more "push" for lack of a better term.

I've found mine to be such a good fuzz pedal that I seldom use the octave function! The settings for using it as a good fuzz pedal (fuzz cranked) and a good octave pedal (fuzz down, volume cranked while using another pedal for fuzz) are so different that it's hard to switch on the fly.

+1. Absolutely true. Less compression and cuts well. I prefer it without the octave effect.

I don't like the new one but bear in mind that I passed on an original for the Dunlop JH Fuzz Face.

I jam with a bassist and drummer. I've never had a problem with the Octafuzz not cutting through.

The Octafuzz definitely cuts well, I also used it 80% of the time with the octave effect out because the fuzz itself it so good.

My Octafuzz is either Great, or unusable

I have an amp switcher, and same Octafuzz settings switched between amps...
Fender ... thing of Beauty
Marshall ... Compressed beyond use
Mesa ... No go, yuck

And if I try to dial it down to suit the Marshall/Mesa
it gets choppy

Rarely use the Octave now, even though that's what I bought it for
Great Fuzz with the right amp/setting

I love mine with my Mesa/Boogie Express.

Agreed, I use mine with Fenders and Dumble-style amps, it kicks a$$.
