P90's in a 339

Just wondered if anyone had tried some hum-sized P90's in an ES-339 yet? And if so how was it?

I'm extremely tempted - but I'm too yellow to drop the cash on some P90's without seeing if anyone has already tried it and finding out how it worked out for them. ;)

I was just thinking the same thing the other day. Actually I was wishing Gibson would just make them with P90s (dogear preferably). Wildwood has some cool natural 339s that would look great with black dogear P90s. I'd buy one!

I keep looking at my 339, then looking at these... then looking at my 339, then looking at these. They do seem pretty hot for single coils though - but the Lollars I put in my strat were an absolute joy!

Collings has a P90 15 inch semi.
Heritage built my Prospect with Lollar dog ears. It gets a Grant Green tone with more sustain due to the stoptail. I posted a photo on the Heritage owner gallery.

I bought an ES339 a couple weeks ago and I am personally loving the Classic 57's! ..yet I do lust for P90's. But they are my preference in a solid body electric. Hmmmm. Lollars sure are sweet. Things that make me go hmm. Here is my new pride and joy. 59 fat neck. Love it! Do you think the Lollar P90's with Tortoise would clash against the Cherry Top? Or would they look killer?

I think P-90's in a 339 would be fabulous! I put Fralin P-92's into a 336 and they have been there for years now with no plans to switch them out.

I think the tortoise-shell ones would look lovely with any of the 339 finishes! I'd love to see some in a Cherry red 339. My mind's made up that I'm going to go ahead with it - just waiting to move on a couple of bits and bobs so I've got some spare cash!

I don't know about tortoise, but black P-90s look killer with a cherry top on a 33x style guitar:
