I have a thing for Hamer guitars and when this NOS piece became available, I couldn't resist.
Studio Custom LTD #17 out of 30
Redwood top book matched with lightly tinted finish non double stained typical Hamer
Multi-ply binding body neck and headstock
Braz board MOP inlays
Nickel Tonepros hardware and Schaller Keys
SD SLU pickups
Belly bevel
The fit and finish on the guitar is as good as it gets. Outstanding playability. I would describe the tone as crisp and articulate with a little better balance top to bottom than a regular maple topped Studio Custom. Beautiful cleans and more than enough bite when you dig in with an amp on the verge of breakup. Does not have the ass end that an LP would but interestingly the tonal difference between the Redwood and the maple reminds a little of the difference between an LP and an LP Custom.
Photo skills to be excused please!

Back with belly bevel an ergonomically very comfortable guitar

Braz board and inlay no filling around inlays needed!
