Will Blu Ray players work on a CRT (tube) tv?

The guy at Best Buy last night says it won't work on a tube TV (all I want to do is play my DVDs, and maybe pick up some BR discs now and again), even with the RCA outs on the Blu Ray player...? Sony PS3's work on tube TVs, right?

Our DVD player is on it's way out, and rather than get another DVD player before a new TV, I'd rather just get a Blu Ray on sale or something and worry about upgrading the TV later.

Yeah they will work on a CRT, there are many models that have component, s-video, RGB, and HDMI outs. I used one on a CRT for a while. I mean you cant get 1080p on those tvs so it wont be amazing quality or anything, but it will work fine.

Buy a PS3, it will hook up to a Tube TV.
