An old friend has asked me to upload some Mp3s to Youtube.
I've tried, but failed. Do I need to convert them to another format?
(The Mp3s in question are of myself singing, so no probs with legal issues)
Help anyone:bow

Youtube plays videos. MP3s are audio. Is this a joke?
Just in case it's not, you need to open some video creating software and add an audio track of the MP3.
if you want to upload just MP3s, and probably at better soundquality so your friend can hear them, use Soundclick.

That's like asking why you can't split firewood with a go-cart.

Like the go-cart remark a lot.:crazyguy
There are loads of music only uploads on Youtube. Often just a pic added, or some such thing. Havin never done this myself I wondered how to do it, as I said, it was a request from a friend.
Never used video software, so as I asked... what do I convert Mp3s to?
do I specifically need video software, then add an Mp3?
@ Jahn...much better idea than youtube:bow

Those are videos. I've made them with Windows Live Movie Maker. They're still video files though.
Cheers :)

Yes I know they're videos. I'm presuming it's a given that we all know Youtube is a Video hosting website.
When I say music only, I mean no video footage, as in just a pic.
This seems to me to be a way of posting an Mp3 to a video website, by just adding a picture, presumably in some sort of video software.
At least I know now which software they're using, so thanks fro that:D
Off out now to collect a geetar from a fleebay purchase:JAM

What you're seeing is video footage of a non-moving image. I know exactly what you're trying to say, yo.

OP - this won't be hard. You probably have Windows Movie Maker, just drop your mp3 into the audio, put a picture in the video, export as a file that youtube can use.

Thanks all. Obviously very basic, but this is what I did. :D
