Dallas is such a great city with great people. I wouldn't even know where to begin. Just ask at the front desk. And if you've never been to a Baptist Service, find the largest church you can and be prepared for a great experience, no matter what your religion may or may not be.

What are you looking for? Bar, restaurant? What area?
Plano has the Shops at Legacy area for shopping/eating. upscalish
Addison has a ton of restaurants and (sport) bars. yuppyish
West Village - you can see a movie, get your drink on, people watch. younger, upscale, hippish
Hotel Zaza and the W are fancy hotspot type places. moviestarish, poseurish.
Might be a able to catch a Mavs game at the AAC, not sure of the schedule.
Mockingbird Station has some shopping, an Angelika movie theater, etc. The DART train stops here. Not a bad ride. It mostly goes parallel to 75(Central), if you need to get around on it.
Lower Greenville has a bunch of dive bars. be careful! If you go in the upper direction plenty of places to eat.
Deep Ellum is a shell of its former self. pretty much avoid
Downtown Fort Worth is nice near the Bass Hall. If you're into that sort of thing they have the Stockyards over there and a couple of good museums. It's kind of quiet and small and nice over there. Classier than downtown Dallas, which is kind of a wasteland after 6pm when the working stiffs go home.
Dealy plaza downtown is worth seeing but you can drive by slowly and get a good feel for it. It's a tourist trap and the "vendors" will harass the crap out of you if you're just wondering around on foot. Heard good things about the Sixth Floor Museum, but I've never been. The nearby West End is kind of gimmicky/touristy, but there is a Hooters, Dicks, and the newish House of Blues over there in the general area.
Try to eat at a Sonny Bryan's BBQ while you're here. I like the one in Richardson off Campbell but there are several locations. The original is down by Parkland Hospital off Stemmons by downtown. It might not be the absolute best in the world. But it is good and solid, better than most.
Charley's is an okay but small music shop in a bad area. The local GC's aren't bad, but nothing you haven't seen before.
You could pick up a Dallas Observer free paper (or go to their website) and see if there are any bands you want to see. They also have ads for the area "Gentleman's" clubs if that is your thing. Of course, I have never been to one. ;)
Be prepared for terrible, unfriendly driving. Cutthroat and selfish are two words that come to mind. It used to be a much kinder, friendlier place. But as it got bigger it has become a fairly rude place imo. The millions of outsiders that have moved to North Texas has had a mostly negative effect in my opinion. Don't expect any cowboy hats or southern hospitality, but hopefully you'll find some of our nice people.
Let me know if you have any specific questions!
Absolutely go eat at one of the Twisted Root Burger Company (www.twistedrootburgerco.com) locations....
man oh man is it delicious.....

Bugs Henderson is at Poor David's on Friday. That's definitely worth checking out.

(Although I'm not sure what his "Duo" is -- last couple of times that I have seen him, he was fronting a rockin' 5 piece)

If you can't find something to do in DFW, good luck anywhere else.
Mid South women are absolutely phine! (We some of the same stock in Oklahoma, just not as many, since we have, like 1/6 the population...)
Beautiful Tex/Okla women have a certain look to them that you rarely see anywhere else. Like a cross between LA crazy/hot, but without all the crazy plastic surgery (ok...b00b jobs maybe, but not the crazy trout pout), sweet farmer daughters and Georgia peaches. In OK we mix genetically gorgeous German/Scandinavians with Cherokee princesses and it's pretty sweet combo. :)

You should definitely experience some Tex Mex while you're there. If you make it to Fort Worth, head to Joe T. Garcia's.
You could also head to Billy Bob's and experience a taste of a Texas honky tonk. They have lots of national country acts who play there.
I've "heard" the gentlemen's clubs in Dallas aren't too shabby either.

I went to the OU-FSU game in Norman and I gotta say I was kinda disappointed in the eye candy there.
I also went to a TCU game a few weeks ago and my head was on a swivel.

Too bad you weren't there on Oct 16/17 as the Arlington Guitar Show was held that weekend.
I visited Dallas last April and attended the Dallas Guitar Show. This show is usually held in the spring, and Arlington in the fall.

There's just so much to do man...every scene of culture is around.
Music scene, while terrible for working bands, provides endless entertainment value.
GREAT food choices all over the place- urban spoon whatever you feel.
shopping? ...we'll leave that up to you.
The Gaylord Hotel system is also phenomenal if you can get up to grapevine. The bar on their campus called the Glass Cactus is basically a smaller version of the House of Blues so be sure to check their musical line up.

Good advice here.
If you could , know you're busy, Bugs Henderson at Poor David's would be a blast especially if you haven't caught him before, what a player!

The one thing I miss most about Dallas is Mexican food - there must be two or three great Mexican restaurants in Dallas..... ;)

Scott, maybe next time. my findings from this trip probably have me coming out here again some time first quarter next year.
so, my experience in dallas was as follows
AWESOME!. i really liked it here. my wife came out for the weekend and loved it as well. its just a great place. so many places to eat and definitely nice to do it on the company's dime.
The hotel was amazing. Im staying at the mansion on turtle creek. and even though i'm probably the poorest guy that ever stayed here, it doesnt feel like it. the days my wife was out, they knew about it without me even saying. they turned down the bed and had extra pillows every night she was here. now that she left, its back to 4 pillows and one side of the bed turned down. definitely a step above other hotels i've stayed at. plus the cars that come in and out of this place are great. friday and saturday night alone i saw 3 maserati quattroporte, 2 aston martins, an audi r8, a lamborghini gallardo spider, and countless other high end german sedans.
as for food, let me start by saying im a picky eater. i like things on the plain side. quality foods with not too many spices. but almost everywhere we ate was really really good. of the best places we went to.
maple & motor: burger joint, great fries, great burger, and best of all DUBLIN DR PEPPER on tap. ive been considering ordering a case to have shipped to NJ forever but think my wife would kill me. im glad i finally got to try it.
houstons (i think its called someting else though): what was funny is that a couple in the lounge at the hotel said it was "slightly nicer than chilis" i dont know what chilis is like around here but the three of us that went LOVED the meal. My wife said she had the absolute best salad she's ever had, and she ordered a rotisserie chicken that was all really perfect white meat. my filet mignon was perfectly cooked and tasty.
BOB's steakhouse: went with my coworker. 16oz filet with a baked potato for $49 each and a $60 bottle of wine came out to be about $100 per person. It was good, but i think i liked houstons better. the meat was of great quality and cooked perfectly, but it really didnt taste all that great.
The highlight food wise was Jake's Burgers Uptown or something like that. we looked for something that we could walk to from one of the offices and saw this place. it was by far, the best meal of the week, and the best burger i have ever had in my life. my coworker said the exact same thing. we were both talking about it all day. it really was that good.
traffic: what the people in dallas call traffic is not traffic. it's so nice to not have to deal with that every morning. it took us on average, 7 mins to drive to our office. much better than my 90 min normal commute.
i hope to come back to texas again. it really was a great place.

I live something like 10 miles north of downtown and during the height of rush hour I can still make it to downtown in 21 minutes vs. about 17 minutes during non rush hour times. It all depends on if you are close to the Tollway.

Sushi on McKinney (not in McKinney, but rather Dallas) is my personal fave. Guitar Sanctuary just recently opened up I believe.
