This was more fun than anyone has a right to have. Ron Ellis 50/60 pickups in the Strat. That's James Pennebaker playing the Tele.

Sounds great! Looks like a fun night. Love me some good slide. It's just one thing i've never felt i have a knack for.

You're a lucky dog, er, make that cat, Pete. Congratulations! Loved your slide work, too!

Fun stuff Pete and your slide playing has always killed me. Not bad for a guy who flies airplanes. Good on ya'!

Jaycee - if *I* can learn it, *you* can. It takes time, practice, patience, and having a good resource. I was lucky and got a couple lessons, and then had LRP's slide video to learn from. That video is really all you need besides a guitar and a slide to get started.
It's now available on DVD. A good investment in a part of guitar playing that will set you apart from the other players.

I'm a big Lee Roy fan. Awesome that you got to sit in Pete, I'm jealous. He should have given you a solo though... I was waiting for it:-)

He did give me a solo, the first one which was very short. Starts right at 3:00.

It was a Fender Custom Vibrolux Reverb (with the reverb turned off) with RI P10Rs. It was OK, but it sure wasn't a tweed Super.
