Best KT88?

If someone has some experience in this matter, I am looking for the best, currently available and affordable KT88 tube. I know GEC KT 88's are great, just not affordable. I am NOT looking for a 6550 substitute, JUST KT88's.

how are those new groove tube KT88 reissues? i haven't played them, but they look pretty interesting. might wanna give them a try. i love me some KT88's too. right now i'm using JJ KT88s in my extremely modded marshall plex reissue, and they sound alright.

The GT is JJ made, a little different, but not too far off. I like the EH KT88 for sound. For reliability and build, the SED is tough to beat for a new KT88, and the sound is very good. JJ's are good too, but I do not like the Sovtek.

I hear people like the New Sensor "Tong Sol" 6550's.
