I picked up my brand new Orange Dual Terror last night and the thing sounds great!

One problem. It buzzes. I was playing it last night with the same rig I always have (never a buzz) and had the gain on the tiny terror channel around 8-9 o'clock for a nice clean tone and the volume about 2 o'clock in full power mode with 2 output tubes. I was playing a 2007 model LP standard with burst buckers. Whenever I'd touch the strings, the buzz went away. When I changed channels on the amp to the fat channel, the buzz REALLY jumped up loud (volume 9 o'clock, gain at 1:30). Same thing though if I turn my volume down (pedal or guitar) or I just place my hands on the strings.

Any thoughts on what this might be?

So there was another issue I called the store I bought it from about. The footswitch light wouldn't light up when I was changing channels. The store guy told me they didn't have another Tiny Terror to play around with but they would check some stuff out and get back with me.

45 minutes or so later, I get a phone call. "Hey this is Alex from Orange Amps how are you?" He told me it was a common problem that they've seen lately with some of the TT's and that it was an easy fix. Orange USA is actually located about half a mile down the road from the store I bought the amp from so he offered to let me bring it in and they could fix it or he could send me some info and I could fix it myself. Basically it was just a matter of swapping the polarity on the connector that goes to the jack.

While I was on the phone I mentioned the buzz to him and he agreed it shouldn't be there and that they'd be more than happy to look at that too. Well, when I got home to try to isolate and find the source of it last night, BAM the Tiny Terror channel just quits on me. The fat channel works fine and the TT channel, after it rests for a few minutes will work fine too but then, after a few minutes playing, it goes out.

Thankfully Orange USA is in my backyard so back to the "factory" I go. Hopefully it's just a bad tube or something like that.

So far though, Orange has had great service. I'm pretty impressed by that.

I wonder if you met Alex Auxier...super cool dude, though i've never met him. I'm over on the Orange Forums - they're a pretty good group of guys (some of us are here too) and he posts there a bit. all experiences i've heard of are good. glad that they're getting you sorted. thank alex - he's a standup guy.

Alex is actually the dude I've been dealing with. So far he's been exactly as you describe. I emailed him last night about the TT channel cutting out on me. Hopefully we can get it squared away today.
