As anyone who wants to use this section must pay a Subscription or pay a Fee, I believe that only the person who is advertising should have the right to post.
Anyone else who has questions or comments can use the PM tools.
This will eliminate useless comments, insults etc. and Moderators will not have to delete inappropriate posts.
How do you feel about this?
I'ts a good idea. I like a bump as much as the next guy but I've always answered questions via PM anyway. It definitely levels the field in terms of "on screen time". Some gear get's bumped so often as a result of comments it's a lost cause to some in hopes of moving an item.
On the flip side there is the search function that a seller can benefit from. I'm sure to get this proposal implemented there has to be a real problem for the mods to deal with and I'm not sure if it's a pita yet or not.

I think it's an effecient way to get a common question, that multiple people would have to ask individually, posed and answered.

I've often found the questions and comments provide further information on the item for sale. And the seller's responses give more of a feel for the seller. So, as long as the comments don't get out of hand, I find them more useful than PMs.

Fantastic idea. No reason for stupid posts saying "PMs replied."
If there's a change to the post, use the edit button.

I think it's important to allow open posting. Abuse of the current policy is so rare that it's not issue. It barely exists. We have to remember that this is a forum where a community of people with like interests communicate openly, eliminating this aspect would turn the Emporium into a classifed section, like CL. Such a move would remove the benefits of an open forum.
As a seller, you can choose to reply to and deal with individuals only through PMs--that's your perogative.
The only improvement on the current system that I would suggest would be a gear search function.

It's been a couple of weeks since we discussed this.
I guess I never thought it was that big of a problem, but the idea is fine nonetheless. You can only bump you own post once a day. Others can comment and give it a free bump, but like i said I haven't seen that as an abuse.

This was tried before and it was a disaster . Rude remarks are rare and as said above mutiple questions from people can be seen by many. I think its fine the way it is. I peronally would really hate to see well enough not left alone and I think many on here would agree.

The only bitch I have regarding the Emporiums are people posting items in the wrong section purposefully. And I know they know better, becuase they often have over 1k posts.
Too many speaker ads and other crap listed in the Amps or pickups in the Guitar Emporium.

I'm in the "ain't broke" camp. The comments in the emporium are often valuable, both in the context of the sale and generally as a gear geek.
