Looking for the large "rounded" teardrop shaped pick that Fender or Dunlop carry, but in a thicker guage(2mm minimum). I love the anti-slip delrin or gator grip too. I've looked all over the web and can't find what I'm looking for. Dunlop has a great selection and I'm using their primetone series picks but would like something a little larger.... Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks TGPers.

you're probably going to get a fair amount of responses endorsing these:

Just a word of warning: In my experience, they're not as easy to grip as they are hyped to be. Again, that's just my experience, maybe I just have silly fingers :crazyguy

These are my favorite. I currently use the gels. They have a variety pack so you can try them all.

I've looked at those before, considered it but i put the money towards some v picks instead. if you've tried the v picks, could you offer any comparisons between the two?

For my money I like the Dunlop Ultex the best of all the picks I've tried - boutique and otherwise...

YES! I use these too. I bought a crap load of the "delrin" ones at my local guitar shop. They are the best picks I have ever used.

Which Primetone are you using? It seems like the larger two would comparable to a large rounded teardrop. I have a Jazztone 207 and it's a little larger than a rounded teardrop. I'm not sure if the Jazztone's and Primetone's are the same material or not. The Jazztones remind me of gator grips. They are also thinner (2mm) than the Primetone's (3mm or 5mm).

If you're looking beyond the mass produced, look at Wegen.

The only thickness the D'Andrea ProPlec comes in is 1.5mm. So it comes up shy of your request in terms of thickness. But this is a fine pick IMHO. It's made in a 6 different shapes, one of which I believe you'll find close and like. Personally, I favor their 'rounded triangle.' I love this pick for it's warmer tone and thicker sound. These attributes plus it is extremely quiet in terms of pick attack noise. It's a pick that manages to sound and feel thicker than it actually is. It's made of a form of acetate. They're cheap too... like $6.99 for a dozen shipped through Music 123. Try this pick before you dismiss it. I think you'll be pleasantly pleased and surprised by it. I also find this material is easy to hang onto. And I'm one that does pick conjuring, so I park it in the fold of a my middle finger when plucking.... e.g., the pick moves a lot back and forth in and out of position and yet I still don't drop it. My favorite pick though remains the BlueChip TPR 60. Nothing but praise for it's overall qualities and for me it is worth the investment.
