What are your FAVORITE PS3/XBOX 360 games?

I want to buy a game for my brother for Christmas. He has God of War, Unchartered, Grand Theft Auto (newest). I think unchartered is his favorite game ever. Are there any games that compare to that one?

Uncharted 2 was really good. Good story, good controls, very well designed and rendered. First rate!

Also try:

Resident Evil 5 (great co-op split screed zombie blasting. Also really good AI for your partner Sheva if you are playing single player)

Dead Rising 2 has been a lot of fun so far. Massive zombie killing. Pretty good story and characters so far. ( I am only about 1/4 complete)

Red Dead Redemption for sure. Made by the same company that did GTA. Great story, lots of open environments. The Assassin's Creed games are pretty good too. As well as Fallout.

I can't get into RedDead...maybe it's not my kind of game. I love RPG's but this is my first step into these sandbox walk/shooters like Grand Theft auto. Maybe that's why they never appealed to me. I prefer Epic Zelda/FF type games to these "Sit down and play cards" type.
I've liked much on the PS3 though. Even the OK games have been fun.

gomez, the Black Ops campaign is fantastic and I'm sure you'll love it as it's extremely fast-paced and entertaining; however, the storyline is absolutely dreadful.

I love Mass Effect. Dragon Age is pretty sweet too, it's by the same developer but is a sword-and-sorcery style RPG instead of scifi.

It is, but, damn if that narrative has gone off the rails.
Kojima is great at gameplay though.

I loved everything about MGS4, Kojima knows how to write a good story. I actually cared about or liked just about every single character in that game. You can say whatever you want about the cutscenes, but I really liked the very cenematic feel it gave the game. (How long is that last one, anyways, 2 hours or so?) Not to mention when you actually get to play the game it's incredible.

Oh, and even though a few people have recommended it I'd stay away from Dragon Age on a console. It's very difficult to play party-based, strategic RPGs on a console espeically since Bethesda dumbed down the control scheme.

I forgot to mention Metal Gear Solid 4 and Borderlands.

MGS4 has a great story and solid gameplay.

Borderlands is a total blast, though the story leaves a lot to be desired. If you just want to blow the crap out of bad guys and ill tempered midgets Borderlands is your game.
