Well, it's a Ford product for starters.
They come in a few choices of colors.
They run on unleaded fuel.
There's room to put some things in teh back of it.
They have this big round thing in front of the front left seat that you guide it with.
What else do you need to know?

Basically a Ford Explorer V8 with a few more bits of trim.
Woefully inefficient and clumsy.
Mercury is a defunct brand.

meh.

You might be able to find a closeout Mountaineer for less than the comparable Exploder clone.

Don't forget, this is still basically the vehicle that was involved in all those rollover crashes in the past, with Firestone/Bridgestone. Some adaptation, but high centers of gravity really contribute to 1 vehicle wrecks.

It's a rebadged Ford Explorer with different trim. Comes with both engines etc.

There are rumors of Ford killing the Mercury brand if that happens the resale value of your Mountaineer will plummet more than usual.

Look at getting the Ford or if you want what is IMHO a fantastic vehicle look at the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Or better yet drive one they are pretty amazing. I sell them.
