While waiting for it to warm up a bit before tuning it up and trying it out through my '63 ac30, I shot a few pics. This thing is basically brand new. I've seen guitars on hangers with more wear and tear. All the tags were still in the case. This may well be the best $800 I've ever spent!! :)

Beautiful, congrats! Is this one of those guitar of the week SGs or something else? $800..? Where can I get one of these for that kind of money?

It looks to be a GOTW and I believe they were around 1200 new. A great SG for a comfortable price to live with.

That is one hell of a deal, but why does a '67 have a bat wing pickguard?

I think the pick guard and the non wrap around bridge were the two things on these GOTW's that don't match the original '67's.
It's hard to describe the tone I'm getting out of my topboost with this thing other than it's feakin stunning...!
Dude you SUCK!
I searched for mine for almost a year, and paid $1200 shipped!
You got the steal of the month right there.
Killer guitars. When I get a guitar, I usually swap out everything from guts to pickups. This is one of the few guitars I own that is bone stock. I wouldn't change a thing.
Killer score!

Thanks guys! Guitar gods were truly looking out for me on this one. Even the case is fantastic with the white fur inside!

Congratulations, and no knock on you, but WTF Gibson (again!)?!? 1967 SG Special?!? With a tuna-matic and small p.g.?!?
No surprise; most of the "Hey lookit my new LP Jr/Special from GC" posts here show a gtr with a tuna-matic too. They sure can't keep their model designations straight. Other than that and six or eleven other things, I love Gbsn!

Awesome score. I have to agree with posts about it being perfect as is. I was kept a friends at my place for about 3 months. Would not change a thing. Hell they even cut the nut correctly. Gibson p90s are for the perfect match for an all mahogany guitar. Nice and rude at the same time.
good score on a cool guitar..............

Damn I hate you. That's definitely one of my dream guitars,....they seem hard to find for sale. Congrats.

Heh. I definitely understand being hated a little for this score. Day two and this thing is still blowing me away. It's the most comfortable out of all my guitars.

Sweet looking SG - but the TOM would be a deal breaker for me.

The title of this thread can almost be creepy in a dark-alley flasher kind of way. But it got me to click it. And to see that beautiful SG. Where's the "Like" button?

The TOM was the deal MAKER for me. I dislike wraparound tailpieces.

Is that a GO (GOTW) as in a Guitar Canter reissue ?
Nice one !!

This is a GOTW. Purchased new at a Long & Mcquade music store new in 2007 in a city called Saskatoon Saskatchewan(trying saying that with a mouthfull of crackers). The owner had just traded it in on a Reverend or something and I got the call about it shortly after that.
I can understand some not liking the non original bridge set up as far as wanting an exact replica, but for me I prefer having adjustable intonation and the guitar was less than some SG classics I've seen for sale.

What kind of neck does that have on it?

All you need now is a stack of HiWatts and stand back "Live at Leeds."

The neck is nice and fat, not like a lot of other SG's I've picked up.
