I bought a guitar on ebay and it had severe problems. Ebay sent me a prepaid label and advised me to send it back and they'd refund my money. I did that. I got notification of a paypal refund a couple days later. Unfortunately, the seller's bank denied the paypal refund. Now I am without the guitar or the money. Ebay closed the case and won't allow me to update it anymore. Paypal won't let me dispute it because it's registered as an ebay transaction. When I call ebay's buyer resolution they transfer me to paypal and paypal tells me I have to resolve the case through ebay.

This is the last time I'll make a big purchase on ebay.

Man, that's worse than the minimal refund I got a couple of years ago. Selllers bank account shut down. So who has the guitar now?

(1) I would track that guy's eBay activity like Glenn Close in that movie. If that guitar pops up again, I would report it to eBay.

(2) If you used a credit card, I would report it to the issuing bank as a bogus charge.

(3) DO NOT TAKE NO FOR ANSWER from eBay or PayPal. "OK, can I speak to a manager?" Get their names up front, and document everything. Managers can make things happen; 1st level is for hunger. I don't even bother with 1st level for anything anymore -- waste of time.
