Where's the leather helmets?

For my money, there's a reason that some team's "throwback" uniforms went by the wayside - they were ugly (Denver Broncos' brown & yelllow, for example). To my eyes, the Packers' throwback uni's look like they're wearing parts of at least two other team's uniforms (brown helmets, navy jerseys, gold pants - kind of a mismatch, to me).

The Packers green and gold uniforms are iconic; they've hardly changed since the 1960's. They are HUGE part of the team's identity.

In an era where some teams have switched to black, because it sells more merchandize (Mets, AZ Cardinals, Boston Celtics, etc.), or don't even wear their team colors (Oregon Ducks "carbon" uniforms - WTF?), I'm still in awe of the designers whose uniforms have stood the test of time - NY Yankees, Dodgers, baseball Cardinals, baseball Giants, Boston Red Sox, Oakland Raiders, etc.

Some of the teams who need a "facelift", in my opinion? Penn State (who still looks like they're wearing throwback (or practice) uniforms; NY Giants (unmatched striping on their road uni's); Tennessee Titans (just plain awful); Cincinnati Bengals (if they're going to wear tiger stripes, why not go all the way?), Buffalo Bills (yecch!); and Detroit Lions (lose the black), who used to have one of the best uniforms.

I'd love to see the Patriots go back to the old logo. As they've had much more success with the Elvis logo, though, they probably never will.

I think they are cool looking but I much prefer the current Packers uniform. It looks like a throwback on its own..Its not all "current" looking like the Pats are.

The Packers colors were blue and gold from 1919 until 1949.

And the Packers have only won 6 of their 12 NFL championships with the green and gold color scheme.
