Take a listen to this clip and see if you can figure out what kind of amp was used for the recording. There is some major wanking in parts, but hey, I am a bass player.

Let's see how close you get...

Name the amp...... (http://glaswerks.com/media/cminor.mp3)

Sounds to me like an old Gibson

No, wouldn't mind having an old tweed Gibby.

To MY ears, it sounds like a Fender Twin, but a bit more "woody"..

Maybe a Bassman?

hmmmm.... maybe a Victoria??

Buuuuuuuuut..... it just dawned on me that it's probably one of your really nice looking amps!! Great site!!! Hmmmm.... Maybe I need another amp??

It sounds really organic and woody. I think the tone is smoking!!

Ok, well I thought I would get a few more guesses. But there was no amp involved. The guitar was straight into an old Rocktron Chameleon (rack mounted preamp) and from there into my board. The patch used was setup to sound as Fendery as possible. A little reverb and compression was added when I bounced down to two tracks.

As much as I like my tube amps. The Rocktron eliminates the problem of having the wife yelling "TURN IT DOWN" every five minutes. I am sure others can relate...
