A pristine Buick that's sat in the showroom of a Signal Hill dealer for 23 years is the stuff of turbocharged automotive legend. (http://www.latimes.com/business/autos/la-fi-autos-buick-gnx-20101211,0,1476311.story)

I had a 1987 GN. Drove it for about 7 years. Did lots of work to it. At least 150 more HP than that GNX :)

Article brings back memories!!!! Nice rides and that GNX is sharp! Too bad they handle like pigs!

Too bad they handle like pigs!

They were'nt built for handling twisties and the like!

Classic American muscle car, built to go from red light to red light as fast as possible, g-force be damned!

Still think the Grand Nationals are the coolest cars out on the road.

0-60 in 4.7?

Holy shit, that's pretty damn fast!

My old neighbor had a Buick Regal with the Grand National package. The darn thing made you respect speed.

A typical ride went like this:

One of my favorite cars ever made.

547 of them produced & I regularly see them on eBay going in the $80,000-$100,000 range.

Love those.

This is part of the heritage that GM should be doing something with.

Sold mine to my mechanic who ran a 10.28 at around 130mph at Atco.

No juice. Just 26lbs of boost, monster turbo, 9 inch rear end, huge injectors, and special aftermarket cylinder heads. Standalone external computer for the injection too.

Blew the head gaskets regularly!

Yeah, I'll bet. I wanted a GN badly back in the late 80s, all I could afford at the time was a 1988 Mustang GT. I guess I could've done worse.

We had a customer come in the other day with one. It had low miles and it will never be for sale he said. One of my favorite cars from the 80s.
