I want to put some of my songs up somewhere where people can listen to them. I've got stuff on Myspace but they're pissing me off for various reasons. Any suggestions on a website where I can upload songs and musician information that is good?

Alonetone and Bandcamp are solid.

My buddy uses soundcloud. When I go to check out his stuff, it's pretty straightforward. That is my only experience with it. But straightforward is more than you can say about a lot of other music hosting sites.

bandcamp.

mine is http://hazyjenny.bandcamp.com/

I have only uploaded that one song, and spent all of 5 minutes setting up that account. The band I am playing in http://altavilla.bandcamp.com/

they recorded the album before I started playing with them. I dont think they spent much time on their site either.

I like the options for downloading the music. Mine is set up as free, and it offers the files in several different levels of quality. They will let you charge as well

Ourstage is pretty good. Slightly resembles garageband in the sense that you can enter the music into contest.

bandcamp is good if you want to sell downloads also. Tumblr is cool if you just want to stream songs, video, and info in one place. Free of course.

+1 for Soundcloud, however I have not had experience with most of the others mentioned here so cannot give you a comparative analysis.

No-brainer, Soundcloud.
