So I am playing a club tomorrow night with this amp. I know it has reverb, but dont know if it's EL84's or 6L6's.
The last time I played through it, my tone was really bad, but I'm sure it was the way I set it, and I was playing through a semihollow heritage guitar.
I have a gig at the same club tomorrow night and will be using a Highway One telecaster with a ts9, dd-20 delay, and a boss blues driver.
Any advice on how to set the amp to get the best possible tone would be awesome! For instance, I know there are 2 channels...if I want to get a good sustaining distortion/overdrive for my pedals is it better to run it into the clean channel or overdriven channel for a better sound? And where to set master, treble, setc. would be much helpful. Any help would be much appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!!

They are either EL-34's or 6L6's fyi. Adjust sound to taste but be aware the Shiva will knock the walls down!

I run mine with:
Clean channel with both tone knobs at roughly noon. Gain channel with mid and bass on full, treble all the way off. Presence at 1:00. Master on full, channel volumes to taste.

IMO the SHIVA sounds better with the Master wide open.

I read several times that with cooking power tubes this amp sounds best and I have to agree.

Settings depend on your guitars but it is very difficult to get the Shiva to sound bad!

With your Tele channel 1 should give you Twin like glassy clean tones even on lower volumes and takes pedals well.
The overdrive channel sounds best when played loud and the Shiva can get incredibly loud.
So if you play a small club and the rest of your bands wants to be heard as well it might be better to just use the first channel and add pedals to taste.

one thing on the clean channel I found running the volume all the way up and using the master volume to suit your overall volume works best for me. the gain channel everthing at noon and if you need more overdrive push it w/ a pedal, that amp is a total pedal slut! just my $ .02

When I gigged with my Shiva/Tele combo, I found that I could quickly dial in the crunch channel settings if I started with the midrange first (from zero) and then slowly brought in the treble to taste (usually very low...almost off). I also found that Celestion G12-75 or Greenbacks were a huge improvement over Vintage 30s in dealing with the upper treble spike. Hope that helps!
