View Full Version : Bluesy backing tracks CD?
Are there any CD's out there of just drums and bass that I could pop in the stereo to jam along with? Or even MP3's that I could burn to a CD?
Thanks

Sure, Five Feathers http://www.fivefeathers.com/ has several Band in the Pocket CDs on different styles that are good. The Let's Jam series http://www.cvls.com/guitarlessons.html is good. There are a handful of Jam Trax CDs that are good too. There are lots of instruction books that come with CDs with backing tracks in different styles too, jazz, swing, 80s, fusion, etc. All great practice and jam-along tools.
Thanks Bill! Gonna order both!

I stumbled accross "The Ultimate Blues Jam Volume 1" in a record store. There are a bunch of different styles and keys. Its a decent jam CD.
You can catch his website at www.peteschmidt.com

I played along with my Blues Jam CD last night and feel I need to qualify my response since his style is not exactly to my taste. It is more like what you would expect from a working band playing clubs where people expect to dance to their blues. It is great for practicing singing, rhythym fills and tastefull horn-like solos, but does not lend itself to long indulgent guitar solos.
Enjoy,
Shawn.
