Thinking on getting a expression pedel for my M9 and was wondering what effects benefit from one and how you use yours in a live setting.

I use it for the wah and whammy, but there are lots of other things you can do.

I used mine for changing speed on a phaser, wah, speed on a leslie, amount of drive on a distortion, changing the mix on delays, and lastly adding strangeness to some of the synths.

Mine controls the volume of the looper- one of the few things you can't do on the new HD series.

On the (very similar) HD 500 I control the speed of the uni-vibe and sometimes the amount of shimmer (octo verb) on some patches. Occasionally Wah, but I'm not a heavy wah guy.

I use mine to switch between gain levels on drives. So, for example, on the Tube Drive model i go from almost transparent to medium gain. The cool thing is you can add or take away bass, treble, and/or volume as you change gain. So it makes it much more powerful then just a gain boost (plus you have all the sounds between, because you can blend from one to the other).

Thats cool, I wasn't aware you could change multiple parameters at the same time.

yeah, you can move any parameters on any effects that are active. You can even increase some and decrease others with the same expression pedal.
