I'm curious if anyone else, or around here tried using something like that. Does it reduce string breakage? what's the deal...

Dunno, but the recently released MB TBOs from the FCS also have the tubing. I think it must be a Rene Martinez thing.

Yes I've been using that trick on my Teles for years. It totally reduces string break. Try it.

I just started! We'll see how it works.
My Strat+ is the only axe out of my 10 or so that pops strings on the gig.
I used some wire stripping.

I used to use those til I lost one, so I stopped using them.
From that point onward, I realized I never break strings right there.

I've been doing it for years on my '68 Strat, and it has really helped reduce breakage between the saddle and the ball end, where the string crosses the baseplate.
FWIW, I dont use tubing, I just strip a small length of jacketing from some 16AWG wire and slide it down to the wraps.
