I just saw them in Santa Cruz a week or so ago and they were great, as usual. I dig their cover of West LA Fade Away. David Hidalgo is such a monster musician and great guitar player. Everything he plays is so natural with great phrasing.

These guys are one of my all time favorite bands. I really don't think there's anyone better. They never make the same record twice and when they do make one, it's like fresh air to me. I've seen them live on several occaissons and they never fail to blow the audience away. I've seen them at Greek and at the Shrine. When they get before the hometown crowd it's an amazing thing to watch esp. when they play the more tradtional songs. I don't know that I've ever seen a band do what they do to an audience. I hope they are together forever!

Yeah it's been in pretty regular rotation since I bought it months ago.
Los Lobos continually puts out great music and still push themselves as musicians - I'll buy anything they put out because it never fails to surprize and inspire.

Great album, great guys. David is one of the most soulful and naturally spiritual musicians on this planet.

"Do The Murray" Rocks :JAM I think it's up for a grammy this year
I helped a friend out with backline for them back in August... So cool to hang with them. David is one of my all time favorites ! Louie is also one of my favorite song writers as well. David's phrasing is infectious
"Jupiter or the Moon" is also one of my favs from this release :bow

I went with a friend who delivered a guitar to them at a club in Memphis about 10 or 12 years ago. Walked in during the soundcheck. They were playing "Crossroads" and David was roaring on a Les Paul into a silverface Deluxe. His vibrato and phrasing was incredible!

One of the best words to describe this band is "fearless". I am so grateful that they've been able to take their wildest ideas, dreams and desires and put them out there for us all to enjoy. Whether it's tracking traditional Mexican music spanning different genres, blues, ballads, rock and roll or experimental stuff (which I think Kiko qualifies), they are not afraid to go for it. Commercial acceptance be damned. I love these guys!

My friend Shane engineered and was nominated for a Grammy for it.

Yup! Love it... just sounds so ... unpretensious (sp?)... very "real" sounding music and songs. When I first listened I thought, "It's okay..." - but then subsequent listenings have revealed much more depth; I really like the record a lot!
