anyone compare the both, and have a favourite?
I'm undecided between the two, but the Omicron can be had a tad cheaper...

I wouldn't touch the LP... I hate internal trims, and imo the depth control of e trem NEEDS to be on the outside of a pedal.
The Malekko is great. Sounds great, feels great. The only reason I didn't keep it is, I needed it to go slower. But that's ME- I like slower trem speeds than most people; not many trems I have tried (like a dozen) go slow enough for my uses. But I can HIGHLY recommend the Malekko. And you can't beat the size & price!

I just picked up a Babyface from a fellow TGPer. So far I like it quite a bit. I want my trem to go fast, and the Babyface can be turned up to a point where the wave is so fast you hardly hear a flutter. The Malekko doesn't go fast enough for me.
The Babyface does have internal trim pots but they are not deal breakers at all. One trimpot is for the volume, so you can set it to be audible in a live mix, which was a problem I had 10 years ago with the Boss TR-2. Set it once at home, and maybe again slightly at band practice to get it perfect. Done.
The other trim pot is depth which took me a couple of adjustments to get right as the speed knob and wave toggle are all inter-related. But my view on depth is that if it is too low then the tremolo effect is inaudible and worthless, and if the depth is too high then the effect becomes quite over-bearing, so there is a range in the middle that is just right and doesn't require constant tweaking.

Hey ruger9,
I too love almost imperceptibly slow tremolo. What have you found that works for you?
Thanks,
James

The old versions of the Swamp Thang (not the new small box Swamp Thing), and the Guyatone VT-X. Those are the only ones I've found.
